  1. The plate on my 1976 has the plate in picture 6, The plate in picture 7 i did not have.
  2. I had a similar problem for years, cars wheel shook at 50 to 55. It ended up being the outer barring outer race on the passenger side. I had hit a pothole many years before that blew out the tire. At the time the dealer did not know what it was and blamed it on the aluminum wheels. I found that it was the barring and the wheel was just a tad bent and that fixed it. Try putting the front wheels on the back, might help.
  3. Jared, I just looked at this thread and you do have a beautiful stock Z. I really like the color and wheels combo. I did see my name mentioned here by sblakeo1, thanks very much for the compliment.
  4. I had the same problem when I replaced my hood after doing some detailing to the engine bay. When I replaced mine the hood was when open tipped towards the car in the bolt holes. I loosened the bolts and tipped (pushed) the hood towards the front or up higher in the air and that fixed my miss alignment. I even had the hinges off and they were replaced in the same spots and bolted down.
  5. Thanks Arne, that is what I need, I will correct and re-post the new ones. The font is really tough to get close, each letter need to be fixed for spacing and the numbers are not even close.
  6. Dan, here the latest revised, both early and late. Can you confirm that the early one is gold and not silver?
  7. Dan, sorry I thought you were talking about the brackets, I do see the " " marks and did remove them. The 1 on a lot of decals look like capital " i 's ", so I have been using that and not the number 1. Thanks again.
  8. Thanks, Don - AZ-240z for the feedback. Here is the original picture I copied from and the fixed version. The first line was off, I fixed it. Also there are quotation marks on the original. There could be even more versions out there, let see. I also attached some from me car that I made, they are affixed by a very thin magnet so they can be removed and used at shows. The pictures were from this past Saturday.
  9. Here is what I have so far. I did find a corner cutter and it works great. Emission decals as follows: 1971 there are two, one I guess for early and one for late. First one is silver (early) and second one Gold (late). Third one for 1972 Gold. Forth one is for Inertia and Fifth on is Emissions for 1974. Sixth on is Emission and Seventh is Inertia, both in gold for 1976 Eight is Emission for non-catalyst and ninth is catalyst (California) for 1978. Ninth one is for Paint, I have it both ways for early and this for later Z's. I also have the Coolant (correct) and Hot (fixed) for Rad. I do not have or have no photos of Emission decals for 1969, 1970, 1973, 1975 and 1977. I have a picture of 69,70 emission decal but no dimensions. If any one has them let me know. I also need the Inertia for 69,70,71,72,73,75, 77 and 78. I need pictures and dimensions is any one has them. Notice: that the 1978 Emission decal has a Datsun logo and all the others have a Nissan logo. Also on the 1978 Catalyst Emission decal on the bottom right corner it says "L24" not "L28" like the non-Catalyst. I know this is right because I have a picture of it. Mototman7 I will need the year you want decals, let me know. I used you dimensions for the 1972 and they worked. Any help with the decals is appreciated, thanks.
  10. Petrol – Yes the changing of the fonts were needed to make them as close as I could. I could not find anything close so I used Arial. It looked the closest when I overlaid it. The spelling of summer like this summ-er is on two other sited that supply decals. Zeddsaver.com and zzxdatsun.com. Thanks for the info. and help. Psdenno – You are right the it’s is "its" on my original, it was very well worn and looked like it had a " ‘ ". Thanks. Manny – I don’t know all the decals that are on a 73Z and the sizes if you can get the sizes I can make them. Motorman7 – Let me know the ones you want. If you could get the sizes that would be great. Trevel’n Man – Is your wheel weight the same as mine or is the weight 2750? Here is a picture of the finished decals. With the magnet on the back they are 8 sheets of 20# paper thick. They look better in person than the picture. I do need to figure out a better way to make the corner cuts. Need to get to a craft store. If there are any requests I will try, in most cases I will need the measurements of the original decal if you can provide it. I am thinking $10 each without the magnet. Each decal will have a gum back. $12 each with the magnet.
  11. I have been looking for the correct or as close as I can get to the correct paper for the different decals on my Z car. Well I have finally found some that is very close to the Gold and Silver papers. The gold is a metallic gold with a paper and gum back and looks very close to the original on my car. The silver is a metallic silver mylar material that is even closer than the gold. I have make up copies of the following decals. Paint decal with the number 302 on it. - Silver Vehicle Emission control Information - Gold The Inertia Wheel Weight - Gold Antifreeze decal - Silver The Caution hot decal for radiator - silver Vehicle Emission Control Info. on the drivers door - Gold See pictures. If any one is interested in my decals or in ones for your car let me know. Price is up in the air right now because the papers is very expensive. I also plan on putting them on 1/64th inch magnetic paper so they cam be removed when not in a show so they do not get damaged. Still working on the one for the air cleaner, I need the size and color of the paper, mine was to far gone to copy. I do have the words and look correct but not the size.
  12. Here is a picture from the inside of my stock 76 -280.
  13. Ben, thanks for the info. I just purchased this http://www.eastwood.com/aluminum-polishing-kit-13-pc-set.html polishing kit from Eastwood for $25. I looks like it has all the parts. How difficult was it to get the cover off and did you need a new gasket?
  14. Ben, look great. I need to do mine, could you explain how you went about the polishing? And what you did to reinstall it.
  15. I have a stated value on my car of $18,500 with State Farm. All I had to do was get an independent appraisal with pictures. Most appraisals do cost if you go that route. For my stated value insurance I pay about $175 per year. The car must be garage kept and there is not any mileage limits that I know of.

Mike, I want to say the new site look is great, not sure of the color combo though. I do have a question, with the old site layout there was an area that you could look at the latest posts for the last 24 hours. Is there a way to add that to the "What's New?" area on the top tab bar?

    thanks again for the site

  17. This was not just one day but many from November last year to Sunday 4/10. I spent 3 to 4 hour each weekend to remove clean and paint the front suspension and zinc plate the bolts and nuts. I also did some cleaning and painting on the front end area under the hood. Some before and after shots. The car started right up and the horn even works after it was taken apart.
  18. After being on jack stands since November while I cleaned, painted and Zinc coated the front suspension parts and some of the engine bay items I finished on Sunday around noon (82 deg.) and put the battery in and she fired right up. Went for a short ride and then washed her. Felt GREAT to run her and get all the parts back together with out any left over.
  19. My monitor is color corrected and it looks like sea foam green to me.
  20. Looks interesting, Looks like a lot more info to go though. One question am I stuck with the sea foam green as a color scheme. I am having a hard time seeing it. All in all I like and good work, thanks.
  21. Here are a couple I have on my 11/75 - 1976 - 280Z. First one is from the bumper struts. Second one is from the top of the carbon filter canister. Notice it says carb and I have fuel injected! The Carb is blocked off. Photographed them while cleaning and repainting the engine area and front suspension parts.
  22. The car in picture #3 is only 268 cars higher than mine. It's the closest I have seen to mine.
  23. Here is a picture of the speaker enclosure in my 280Z. I have since covered it in black vinyl like the seats. I hooked it to a simple AM/FM CD play in the glove box. I kept the original radio because it worked great and is hooked to the original speaker.
  24. I have used Automotivetouchup.com for my 302 Leaf Green Metallic, it is not listed on their web site or on any ones. I called and talked to Skip (1-888-710-5192) and he send me 2 cans of color and 1 can of clear that matched very well.
  25. Here is shot of mine my receiver plate that works perfectly.
