  3. The z32 barge stretched when posting, I know all are in a circle thanks.
  4. thanks so far, looks like i'm on the right track.
  5. Hi all, I would like to get conformation on some dates and designation for the Z. I am looking at the US market only. And skipping the 260 designation if different. S30 - from 1970 to 1978 and this badge. S130 - from 1979 to 1983 and this badge. Z31 - from 1983 to 1989 and this badge. Z32 - from 1990 to 2000 and this badge. Z33 - from 2002 to 2009 and this badge. Z34 - from 2009 to now and this badge. This is the information I have gleaned off of the internet, would like to have some conformation on the dates and the badges for each. Thanks in advanced, Michael
  6. ksechler, I have 1976 280 and am the original owner and like you have only driven my car. My car does not smell at all, you need the weather strips in the back hatch area and also good rubber seals around the tail light. My car is not loud, I have a normal muffler on it, I have only the stock sound proofing.. The car does get hot inside because the exaust pipe runs along the trans tunnel under the driver. I have 205 - 60 - 14 tires and they are simi hard to turn and very low speeds, at speed not a problem.
  7. Here is what I did back in June of 2013. http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/46799-fixing-black-pearl-style-mirrors/#comment-425892
  8. From what I see the car has 75, 76 back bumpers, the front bumpers looks like 75, 76 also, it look like they have blunter rubber ends than the 77. The color to me looks like the gold, the engine bay looks like it was repainted. You can see paint on the brake lines on the fire wall and at the connection at the charcoal canister. Door panels have been changed, shift knob is not stock and the radio is not stock. Also has the fan cover, might have had AC at one time. Has the air cleaner for a later model 76 where it pulls the air from the engine pay. My 11/75 -76 280z does not have this.
  9. From my experience, that is two different times, I noticed that the electrolyte seems to need to be replaced or replenished every so often. I also did heat my electrolyte to 100 degrees. I also added a brightner solution to the electrolyte. As for the 5 sq. inches I assumed that it means all the surfaces together.

    Summer 15

    Pretty car, love the color.
  11. The bumper's are late 74 to 76. The owners manual in top of the car he is looking at says 1976.
  12. I want to wish my 76 - 280 a happy birthmonth she was born in November 1975. She is 40 years old and only has 51K miles. For her birthmonth I add a third light or center light. Here is what I used. 2PCS LED Daytime Running Light 2X6W 17CM COB Bulb Car DRL Driving Lamp RED DIY found on Ebay for $14. CARCHET Flash Strobe Controller Flasher Module for LED Brake Tail Stop Light found on Amazon for $4.55The strobe controller strobes 3 or 4 fast and 4 slow flashed and then full on. Here is a video, Utube. I mounted them on a piece of "L" shaped aluminum and drilled a hole in the middle to pass the wires through and added the strobe controller at the far end. Soldered the wires from the controller into the right tale light. Black wire was easy, the other was a little harder my two wires coming out were green-white and green-yellow, used the green-yellow. No plastic panels needed to be removed. I used the "L" on top cut in three 1 inch pieces (one left and one middle and one right) and slid tham under the rear window rubber and the glass.
  13. My car is a 76 and came with loop pile carpet, My tire size was 195 / 70 HR 14 - RD - 106 Steel Bridgestone. Still have the original spare.
  14. Mine was built in 11/75 and is 281114, Yours could have been built in 9 or 10 of 75. I think 76's were started on 9 of 75.
  15. Finally got around to attaching my fire extinguisher in the car, now I don't have to worry about it rolling around. I used a 1/16 thick sheet and cut out a piece to span the passinger seat bolts and drilled holes for the plastic holder in two locations and used the best fit. The passinger seat does not move up but a couple of inches now but no worry there, no one sits in that seat but my granddaughter once in a while.
  16. Changes the front breakes on my 76. Took about 30 minutes should be good for at least 20 years. The last set lasted at least 25. Got them from RockAuto they were Wagner PD161 for $20 shipped.
  17. Thanks guys, I might look into the purchase of one from blackgragon. Not in a real hurry right now mine has a small hole in the under side. Also the top chrome us starting to show some thinning.
  18. Thanks hr369 never thought of them being reproduced. Thanks Tomo but mine is a 76 and different than a 78.
  19. I am on the look out for a 74 1/2 to 76 back bumper in very good condition. I know a lot of you 280 owners are replacing your big ugly and heave bumpers for the lighter look of a 240 bumper. I was wondering if any of you might have a very good one to sell or get rid of? thanks.
  20. Looks like a winner, I would keep the big bumpers, they are what makes a 280 a 280 I think. I have lots of pictures of my stock 76 I can send you if you want to keep the stock look through out (let me know). That green was my second chioce for color. As for the plugs I have the NGK BP6ES in mine right now. What is the vin number of yours, mine is listed in me sig.
  21. I don't know if this will be of any help. Here are two pictures from last year. My car has 50K original miles, original cam and nothing special has ever been done with the oil changes. Have the oil changed once a year over the last 15 years with regular 10W 40 or 35 not sure. Last year I did put in some Zink additive in and am going to start regular use of some kind of zink additive. I usually put 400 to 500 miles on the car each year.
  22. Here are a couple of pictures of a 76-280. If you car is a late model 260 they should be the same. On the back of the first picture you can see the stude that hold it to the inside of the car.
  23. Here is another tread about the seals. http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/46343-hatch-hinge-seals-painted-from-factory/?hl=%2Bhatch+%2Bhinge+%2Bseals I have them on my car 76 - 280z and they are painted the color of the car.
  24. Look like the negative was flipped and the steering wheel was added after. Look at the coat pocket on the man, hankerchief usually are in the left breast pockets. There is no mirror on the drivers side also and the wipers are on the wrong side. Probably a right hand drive car. My take on it.
