Hi gang, I need help tracking down a potentially obscure part for my '72 240z. I'm in need of two clamps that hold the vinyl sleeve of the control cables of the heat/vent control. They were disconnected when I got the car and I have no idea if I can get a replacement. Does anyone have any idea of where to find such an item (and even what to call it)? Thanks for your help! Greg

    Sorry, I'm a newbie... FSM?

Thanks, Ramses, but I've taken the cover and the fixture to AutoZone, Kragen, and Napa and all have responded with a shrug and a "dunno". I'll keep looking and let y'all know what I find. GD

Hi all, I have a '72 240z that I'm trying to replace some insrtument lights. On the fusebox cover, there are some warning indicator lights (seat belt, choke). Mine lacks the bulbs and I don't know what size to replace them with. Phillips lightbulbs lists the instrument bulbs as #1445, but the base is still too big for the fixture. I don't think I have an aftermarket item. Anybody have any ideas? (Dare I say that I need "enlightenment"?) Greg
  5. Hi all, I'm Greg in Dixon, CA (between Sacramento and Bay Area). I was actually given a '72 240z automatic by a realtive who knew I have admired Z's for years. :knockedou It runs fairly well (made the 300 mile trip from Santa Maria, CA to Dixon just fine), but the struts are shot. I've spent some time reading a number of postings in the tech area, and I am very impressed at the volume of knowledge and experience here. Thanks for maintaining this club. I am starting small by noodling with little details and just learning what kind of mess I've gotten into. I have one question I'd like to try to answer soon: on the fusebox cover, there are some warning indicator lights (seat belt, choke). Mine lacks the bulbs and I don't know what size to replace them with. Phillips lightbulbs lists the instrument bulbs as #1445, but the base is still too big for the fixture. I don't think I have an aftermarket item. Anybody have any ideas? (I'll post this question in the electrical forum as well.) Thanks again. Greg
