alright. heres my story.. Im looking for a parking spot in AAA. This lady and her son,( son driving) a porshe lowest model. tail gates me. and i neutral back a little bit in my daily driver. and hits her, like a tap. no scratches no dents. just dust cause her of dirty car. 3 MONTHS later she reports it to her insurance agency... WHAT is going on here.!?!?!? omg. she said its fine. but still reports it? does she want to screw me over..!?!??

thank you thank you! but heres what i found out so far Ok heres my dilemma, my reverse does jammed and pop outta gear..but heres the thing..i shift it in second gear then to reverse, and it works! but it wants to slip out to neutral, ..umm i dont know what to do so i might have to try the bushings, and change the trannny oil,, and see what happens.

thanks, sblake, but just out of curiosity, cause curiosity killed the cat, umm.. how does this relate to the reverse getting popped out? haha sorry im a totalnoob on transmissions.:sleep:

really, my z came with a 5spd,. you think its cause the shifter is off? i have no clue where it came from. but, it shifts smoothly, i think its the shifter thats not shifting all the way.. possibly, i just dont want to jump to conclusions and buy it. even though if i regret fixing it and it would work, plus im poor and i get paychecks monthly hahaha. so i gotta conserve money :tapemouth but i guess heres my options change tranny fluid. upgrade to nissan compition shifter kit. or just by the damn tranny ahha. i dont know what else.

wait, so the tranny i have now, ....every gear works fine, except for reverse ..u think its cause i havent cut the metal? or its just out of service.?

hey umm i think i found a problem.. #quoted from a site) On early 240's, you may have to cutout about 2 inches of metal from the front edge where the shifter goes through the trans tunnel. A 5-speed sits forward slightly and the gearshift may requires more clearance. This cutting is the price of a 5-speed trans. If this really stresses you, install a ZX 5-speed. Supposedly they don't require cutting. how hard is it to cut the metal?

basically i know a 76 tranny would fit in a 240z, obviously, but there shouldnt be any problems right? cause im about to buy one. tonight. please let me know asap. thanks guys.
