This car was sold at Niagara Falls Datsun in 1973. Manual transmission. In the 70's the car was painted red, the g nose and flares were added at that time as well. The g nose is said by Datsun to add 13mph to the top speed of the vehicle, though I've never tested that heh. My uncle bought the car in 1982, the previous owner was a friend of my father's. My uncle had a welder cut out any rust in the floors and put in new metal, he said the car wasn't too bad when he got it. Still have the original warranty booklet, owners manual and service manual, and it looks like an extended warranty was purchased for it back then. In the early 2000's my uncle pulled the motor and had a reputable shop rebuild the head and block. He only drove it a few hundred miles a year as it's one of 5 cars for him. Probably only 5k miles on rebuild. I have his receipts from the engine builder: valve job, mill head, disassemble block, re-hone, new rings, deck block, etc. Also have receipts from Motorsport Auto (now The Z Store) for: crank seals, centerforce clutch w clutch kit, cam oiler tube, headgasket, steering rack boots, rear shoes, wheel cylinder, strut bars front & back, "How to Rebuild Your Nissan OHC Engine" book, urethane steering rack bushings, urethane steering coupler, dual Weber carburetor kit, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, etc etc. From Victoria British: piston ring set, timing chain/set, rear trans oil seal, clutch master & slave, reverse switch, front brake hoses, brake cylinder, etc. Receipts from the local dealer for assorted hardware. Other miscellaneous receipts. I bought the car 3 years ago, though I'd had it for a bit longer than that. I'm 33 and this is my 4th 240z in the past 17 years. I replaced the emergency brake cable, upper and lower radiator hose, heater hoses, any other coolant and fuel lines that looked ready. I eliminated the vapor expansion tank, (car now has no smell when driving with the windows up) vented the filler neck to the top of the tank, new grommets where needed, thermostat, rear brake hoses, hard lines from hoses to wheel cylinders, wheel bearings & seals in back, stub axle nuts, spindle pin kit, just changed the oil 8/10/18 with the blue oem filter, full synthetic 10w30 and Lucas Oil TB Zinc-Plus zinc additive, poly rear control arm bushing set, Ground Control coilovers 200lb Eibach springs and Tokico Illuminas in back, probably some other stuff I'm forgetting. The paint is older, single stage, up close you can see spider webbing in spots, but it looks pretty good for what it is. The paint is peeling a bit behind the license plate, but that's hidden by the plate. Fiberglass hood with holes from hood pins, fit isn't great. 2.5" exhaust, new Vibrant stainless steel muffler last year. No sway bars, I have a stock front one I can include but it needs to be re-mounted. I also have a new hatch seal I will include. Car has original numbers matching motor, only vin plate that doesn't match is the dash as my uncle replaced it in the past with an uncracked one. I do have a pair of round top SU carburetors and manifold that were on the car prior to the Webers (preferable to the Hitachi flat top carbs that came in 1973). This came in a 240z I got a few years ago, I parted the car out as a friend of a friend wanted something for an lsx swap and my uncle has been trying to sell me his 240z for ages. The z I bought from my uncle has a rebuilt numbers matching original motor so I’m not changing it. This L28 came from a 280z and is supposedly built. Unsure what it has, could be just a cam, I wasn’t the one who put it together. N42 block, N47 head. Turns by hand. Remanufactured starter. Intake and exhaust manifolds were on until I just removed them, it wasn’t sitting exposed. L28’s originally came in 280z’s but they can be used in 240z’s with carbs, an electric fuel pump, and ignition control (I have a Crane kit and a GM unit people often use available). $675 6-1 header available separately $195. Form MV- 51 (Certification of Sale or Transfer for 1972 or Older Vehicles or Any Other Non-Titled Vehicles): If the seller did not register the vehicle, the boat, the ATV or the snowmobile, the seller can complete form MV- 51 and give the form to the buyer. The seller must also give the buyer the original proof of ownership and bill of sale that the seller received from the previous owner. If there are other previous owners, the seller must also give the buyer proofs of all previous transfers of ownership. The seller must also give the buyer a bill of sale. Proof of Ownership Supplied by the Buyer Before you purchase a vehicle, boat, or snowmobile that is non-titled, make sure that you will receive the acceptable proofs of ownership. If you cannot get any of these proofs, you must: Contact the previous owner that sold the vehicle, boat or snowmobile to you. Get a bill of sale, and a registration receipt or form MV-353 transferred to you. OR Write to the owner and request that the owner transfer the acceptable proof of ownership to you and mail the proof to you. Use certified mail to request a return receipt. If you do not receive proof of ownership, and the US Postal Service returns your certified letter, bring all of these items to a DMV office: The returned certified letter in its envelope, not opened. A pencil tracing, a photo or a police statement that shows the vehicle identification number. A notarized affidavit that explains how you got the vehicle and describes how you tried to get the acceptable proof of ownership. Other documents that are evidence of ownership. For example, any bills of sale or registration documents of previous owners, or your cancelled check for payment, is evidence of ownership. A completed form MV-51B (Statement of Ownership). Note: If you have had the vehicle, the boat or the snowmobile for less than one year and it was never registered by the previous owner, the previous owner must complete form MV-51B. Important Note: If your proof of ownership for a vehicle, boat, or snowmobile that is non-titled is not a NYS transferable registration transferred to you by the previous owner, the local DMV office will issue a non-transferable registration. In New York State you only need to transfer registration for cars 1973 and older, they had no titles. Check out the DMV website, there's a simple protocol to obtain if you don't have it

well my dd is an e36m3, 4 door 5 sp with a few mods. I would like to get back to my e30 roots and get an e30m3 but it's tough: I don't mind dd'ing the e36, it's ok when it gets a little abuse, dings, etc. A couple weeks ago someone hit the front and took off, ~$1600 in damage! But I would feel pretty uncomfortable using an e30m3 for anything where it's left unattended, too rare. Some day I hope to get an e30m3 shell and put an s54 in My garage has lot, . 16,000 square feet. My business specializes in the sales of alternative energy vehicles, so a bunch of Priuses and Civic Hybrids, a few CNG powered cars when we can find them. But my warehouse was a BMW part out facility prior to us, and my landlord still has a lot of junk in there. the e30 touring is no longer mine. Sold it to a guy in NYC who did an e30m3 widebody and painted it blue. Loved that car though, had a European s50b30 and e36m3/z3 m 5lug brakes/suspension. the black e30 in the foreground is my buddy's, US 3.0L m3 motor in there. the e38 is ours as well (sold a while back). the junk BMW's are my landlord's the white e30 in the pics is a build we did to sell, obd1 s52 (3.2L e36 m3 motor) into an e30 318i. had an old mk1 gti car with a ton of scca history. sold it to a buddy of mine who's just swapping a 1.8t in for now (came with a small fortune of Happich windows for anyone familiar. I sold the windows for more than I got for the car)! here's my "new" 73 Z that needs some time and money. Went to the vintage event at Watkins Glen last weekend, had a great time. I took my e36 m3 (240z has a ways to go before driveability) but my dad took his 71 240z. He's 60, bought & restored it 32 or 33 years ago! We've been going to that weekend every year for almost 25 years, it's great. Every Friday, after a great ~3.5 hour cruise through rural WNY/CNY we pull into town to see a the entire strip completely consumed by vintage cars and racers. Those participating in the vintage show get to do a few laps of the original track, which ran through the city from '48-52. Then the vintage racers pile in and do the same. It's an all day event, completely packed (literally) until 9pm. Then a weekend of vintage races! It's so cool to see almost exclusively vintage cars for 3 days. I'm only 27, it's a treat for me as I hadn't yet arrived during that era, ha.

Hey, I was just wondering the bolt pattern and offset for my 70 240z. I want 17's, would i need a 40 or 45 profile tire? also, i know 205's will fit, but I was thinking like 205 up front 225 in back. 7.5" rims. What offset, and what will fit? Thanks.

well the sr20det is looking better and better. I can get it shipped to my door for 2500, and also it is a lot lighter than any of the rb-dett motors. i am only concerned with installation. I will have to change to FI, but I mean motor mounts, axles, I do not know.

I have owned my '70 240z for 2 years, it has been in heated storage for 11 years (my dad was the previous owner, he has 3 other 240's). I am selling my current car (94 honda accord) and wanted to get a 300zx z32, but im thinking about taking the money to work on my datsun. I am contemplating a 280zxt motor and building the turbo, an sr20det, or an rb26dett. I'm not sure if the sr20 and rb26 would fit. What do you guys think I should do, and are the parts readily available, and where from? Thanks P.S.
