Got in a "discussion"with a ....shall we say with a "Pro Detroit type"(polite way of putting it.

I need some the attendance numbers for recent Z-car conventions.I've googled it but came up empty.
  5. Car came with them.As soon as the wallet allows, they are coming off. Ironic that my last car was an AC Cobra.

X2 And then, install the guage right off the "T" and leave it there.True about ignition issues masquerading as fuel issues.BUt the fuel filter is the easiest to deal with. And if the filter does solve your issue, you then need to drop the tank and douche it out real good.
  7. Then lock it Arne-if you can't stand the truth.I posted facts-not opinions.Do as you wish.
  8. Now for a reality check-electric cars are a joke.THey will NEVER be an altenative to gasoline powered vehicles.THe storage battery has basically remained the same since it was invented. They are cost-prohibited and are more of an "enviromental liability" than gasoline powered engines are. Gas stations will NEVER,repeat NEVER be replaced with "charging stations".At least not untill instantaneous charging is invented. The reason i posted the link above,is to show that Electric cars still can't compete in the real world.Assuming 9 seconds is an obtainable time it is still an eternity from 7.7 seconds.

    NEW Michelins with cracked sidewalls?
  10. THe MSD will replace your ignition module.Basically you just splice it into the pick-up leads off the electronic dizzy.I did this on my wifes LZ-23 that i just built her.Tie wrap the MSD box down and away you go for the race or mount it permamently if you like it.
  11. Borrow a MSD 6AL and hook it up to the 75 dizzy.
  12. Process of elimination.FP needs to be verified before beating your brains out on other "possibles".
  13. Assuming the both dizzys are in good working order, the "US" one re-curved will be superior to the European one.Although the European one stock for stock is better than the emissioned US one,it will not have a "curve" "better"than one set-up specifically for your car.
  14. Trading a point distributor for a points distributor is.......quite point-less.The Electronic distributor is superior to points in every measurable way. As Carl stated, take your distributor and have it re-curved.This "European dizzy" will have no advantage over a properly set up domestic one. One important point is that the curve must be all in by your cruising rpm. THe optimal set-up is an electronic dizzy with a proper advance curve.
  15. Plumb a temp fuel pressure guage to the hood and run the car.Is there a return line on the car?

You're correct. But we are starting to get into semantics.A particular guage will pass "X" amps without melting.
  17. Here's the applicator:
  18. Z train posted a post in a topic in Interior
A 20 amp fusible link is a 20 amp fusible link. When the amperage reaches 20 amps-it burns/melts. An alternative is installing a spade fuse holder and then using a circuit breaker instead of the fuse.
  19. If this is a used engine, now is the time to douche the pan out real good. Also make sure the pick-up screen is clear.
  20. Break the motor mounts loose and jack up the motor untill the pan clears. No problems.

    No,"rent-a-cop"is a private security guard.
  22. Ohm meter.Check the sender with the engine off (key on-duh)then with it running. There should be a difference which would be listed in the FSM.
  23. Pure logic. No Spock jokes ,please.
