  5. Like Steve said-match RPMs and don't use the clutch. If you can shift the trans without using the clutch and no "sounds" are heard from the box, your synchros are healthy and your problem lies elsewhere.
  6. Can you shift the tranny without useing the clutch?

  10. Sounds like you (and a few others here)need to have all the joints checked. After thinking about this,it is "POSSIBLE"that a impact had an effect on the joints, but 9 out of 10 times a joint fails it's from age and/or vibration.Check them all with a magnifying glass.Failed joints are obvious if you know what to look for.
  11. THis is not what's happening. The solder joints have failed.THe pins as you call them are "L" shaped. They go thru the case, make a 90 degree turn and land on the circuit board.the solder joint where they attach to the board is what has failed.Have a electronics guy check the joints in your ECU.
  12. The normal culprits are the solder joints on the tabs that the wiring loom plug fits. They go thru the case and make a 90 degree turn and land on the circuit board.
  13. Sounds like bad solder joints. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36903&highlight=ECM

Another possiblity-in the morning, block off half your radiator and see how it re-acts.In my 620 if the temps are below 50, i have to block off half the radiator to get the temp up to 180(with a 180 stat.)ANd with temps in the 70's it'll stay at 180 or a hair above.ANd when i pull the cardboard out,it'll sit like a rock at 180.

Rarely do you find a "Fuming gun" like that. But don't stop there, make sure every thing on the back of the cabin is"tight".
  24. Possilby. It's just time to call them all and write stuff down-then decide.
  25. Carl & AJ,you are both correct, but "uses" do vary.again by provider. Some are more lenient thatn others. And of course the "lenient one" escapes me at the moment.
