The OP is in Kalifornia. It is ILLEGAL to remove ANY smog gear.It must be on the vehicle & working. The only exemption comes is from the testing. And the smog pump does nothing.

I just did all the dash lights in the 620.Some of the factory dash bulbs that are listed as drawing 3.4 watts, now draw .27 watts.Start adding them up and it makes a difference.

Leon-you're like a sundial at night Before you cut teh weld, put the hanger in a oven heated to 1300 degrees first. Then see what happens.

1)Because then i'd be wrong-and i'm not. 2)In your world,it's a fact. But here on earth-it isn't. 3)Catagorically false. As long as there is proper port alignment, whether the flange is solid or cut is completely 100% irrelevant. 4)On the contrary.
  22. Some synchros don't like synthetic oil....period.
  23. Z train replied to steve91tt's post in a topic in Help Me !!
In order for it to be true,EVERY single header on the planet would have to be made with a solid(continuous)flange.THis is simply not true.
  24. Z train replied to steve91tt's post in a topic in Help Me !!
SInce i just got done listing all the makers that don't use "solid" flanges-why would you say that? Steve-glad it sealed for you.
  25. Z train replied to steve91tt's post in a topic in Help Me !!
It is not bad advice. It is an option.Your statement that the "structure is compromised" shows your lack of experience and utter lack of understanding how things work. Eagle,Hedman,Thorley and others have used the split flange design since the 60's.This is not a hack approach,it is not borne of desperation,it is common manufacturing technique. The OP needs to make the decision how much time & $$.I personally don't like the way they look based just on the appearance of the "head side of the flange".
