Same type(flange wise) that is on my turbo car.Since there is a bolt on each side of each tube(sans the 3& 4 tube)Cutting the flange will have no ill effects. And since header makers do INDEED make flanges of this type,it is not desperation but rather another design that has been in existance for 45+ years. Now if you want to discuss the right way to do it,that involves stripping, straightening and re-coating.

Sorry, but there is no correlation between cut flanges and them working loose.

Push comes to shove, cut the flange between 1&2 and 5 &6.One thing i don't like is i can't see any "build up" around the tube to seal against teh gasket. No mater what you're gonna need some "Ultra Copper" to seal things right.
  4. Have you tried the dealer for the pin? BTW-in my best Bartyls & James voice:Thanks for your consideration.
  5. With the seat out and on your back;),you shouldn't have an issue.I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the pins from all the models should work. OH,it's 79 here today.
  6. Wanna go halves? Sorry-couldn't resist. BTW-ONE of the bolts that holds the pedasl in( i forget which one) has REVERSE threads.
  7. Have another kid.:stupid:

Fastchick, why the idea might have merit, the money would be better spent switching to Megasquirt.

Do you wan to rebuild your motor at 75,000 miles or 275,000 miles? And for the record i saw a friend go past the 1000 ft mark in a 8.90 car BACKWARDS because of a FRAM filter let go. FRAM is GARBAGE

Your car has points and carbs-right?
  14. Z train replied to mlaw7's post in a topic in Engine & Drivetrain
Fastchick-Seafoam is the ticket for your crud.......in your engine....in your car. Wix is probably the best filter out there. It's all i use on the Datsuns and my Cummins.

Sorta agree. But my point is i wouldn't put a FRAM on YOUR Briggs & Stratton.

I've used a remote "element" filter before.Do your homework really good.Pay attention to the micron rating and compare it to a good filter(WIX) before you make the investment.

Google FRAM Oil filters. But first grab a really big bag of popcorn and at least a case of beer. Company name is irrelevant.K&N is a good name also-but their "Extreme lid" is a joke. Flowmaster is a "good name".Nothing but a well organized marketing ploy. Their filter media is inferior.Their construction is inferior.Take a WIX,Purolator or K&N,cut them all apart and get back to us. FRAM is the poster child for what is wrong in todays world.Take what was once a good product and cheapen the $^!# out of it and get by on the name.

FRAM and the word "good" are mutually exclusive words.FRAM is complete garbage.

The luggage effect is minimal. And i'll bet some money that airflow disturbance is low on non-existant.I'd be in the market for one if my cage wasn't in the way.
