i think it is the TPS. but im not too sure.... gonna replace it anyways, better safe than sorry right. gonna order some stuff from black dragon's catalog and see if that helps out any..... my roommate is thinking its a vaccum leak, but we are not sure.... will keep posted and im still gonna try and get some pics.... if not video of my car running the 1/8th mile ..... if i can ill try and get some audio of the exhaust for ya guys....

ok, i didnt know if i should have posted this here....... but heh, its here i finally figured out why my car drags to the laft while driving..... i have no inner or outer wheel bearings in the rear driver side wheel......... gonna fix that soon and then i will be posting track times. gonna hit the 1/8th mile strip...... hopefully i can get some pics of me racing for you guys..... btw, does any one know what could be causing my car to start right off like normal...... but most of the time i have to hold the gas pedal down and let it turn over for about 45 secs before it starts........ got any ideas on that one? take care guys

i have heard that you can take a desil cam and run it in the l28et and have it stroked, but im not sure..... and if your gonna take a l28et and run a intercooler, get ready for some big bucks to be spent, last one i saw that was any good was 2800.00 usd. and i would think that if your gonna spend that on the intercooler, might as well get a new turbo thats a lil better than stock. just my .02 cents in

well guys. ive started sanding and primering the 280zx, right now since im short on funds, its just gonna be a scuff and spray job till i can get the money for my buddy to sand it to the metal and re-primer it..... the color im gonna be going with is called blood-cherry..... special mix.... im about to also have the rims taken and have them shined and the grooves painted black... also replacing the stock radio with a nice lil sony system. btw, what could cause the ignition coil wire break?... the inner connections have broken on both sides and its a new wire.... im thinkin that it wsa cause of the high rpm's i had it at. cause they were workin fine before with maxing my rpm's at 5grand. i redlined a few times on a small strip and then it killed out on me with no fire to the plugs, looked and my damn coil wire was laying by the driver side a-arm........ just curious to that

hi, I also have a 83 280zx but mine is turbo charged motor, i found that mine was doing the same and i fixed it very easily..... check to make sure that your timing is correct and then procced to check to see if the distributor bolts are tightened down all the way.... also check to make sure that the timing chain is still in good condition..... thats all i can think of..... hope to hear good news from ya

i must say, i just got mine about 3 or 4 weeks ago and i have had the chance to open it up and it kicks...... your are one lucky gal to have such a sweet ride and such a awesome dad..... ill be posting some pics of my car in the next few days, gonna start sanding and primering tomorrow.... but mine will never look like yours. congrats on the sweet car

...... i doubt youll ever see mine there unless i total it out..... which then ill just rebuild on it from the 280z across the street.... which i have to say is for sale for 250 buks..... and ive been checking around and cant find some parts that i need so i might as well ask here........ do any of you know any reputable online stores that would carry the rear end cv axles.... i can only find for 280z but im not sure if they work for the 280zx.....oh yeah, im getting ready to start sanding the body.. then im gonna primer with flat black and then a top coat of a nice satin black....thanks everyone for the welcoming and i hope to learn lots from you guys. oh yeah, here is a engine shot just to tease you non-turbo guys....

Hello........ Thank you guys for the info and complements..... as for right now all i plan on doing is replacing the radio and cleaning up the motor... ( make it all nice a shiney again ), eventually when the money comes in i will be re-doing all the interior, i will be keeping it all original style just a different color..... thinking of black all the way..... as for the motor and exhaust, i think im just gonna replace the muffler with a mid tone one, dont know what brand or style but i know i want to make it seem like its a junker when its just a kickass sleeper. basically i just want to do a few minor things with the interior and a complete clean up. and the name was my grandma's name, she looked weak and she was old....... but get her wound up and she would knock ya to the ground, i know she did it to me a few times....

i own a 1983 280zx turbo that im gonna be working on. just figured id drop in and say hi to everyone and show what i got right now.... i didnt see anything in the sign up about a 83 280zx so i said who cares, its a z-car site, people will still love it since its a z-car... but here she is..... her name is Evelyn and she is all orginal and stock.... btw.... does anyone know what kind of board nissan used when making the interior door panels, cause im looking to custommake some for mine.
