i was asking about a fuel cell because my tank is really rusted from the inside and it has a really large dent in one side. i was thinking maybe just upgrade to a fuel cell and not have to worry about my fuel system.

I have looked here and i cant find no one that has installed a fuel cell using the stock filler and without having a big tube going from the center of thecar to the filler. I was thinking of getting a 15gal but i havent bought it yet because of this issue. im getting the car ready for a rb swap. i think that if i was to mount it a little low and raise the rear floor section i would be able to do this but not too sure im still brainstorming and its been buggin me for a few weeks any ideas will be highly appreciated. thanks..its a 75 280z

there was some rust on the driver side floor pan it wasnt a big concern it came off right away with a wire brush and sand paper. im currently stripping everything off to a bare shell and go from there i think the car is a whole lot better shape than i thought stripped the paint off on the passenger side and found a small dent repair on the door hopefully i dont find a big surprise on the driver side. i also have 2 sets of bumpers if anyone needs them i can let them go for a reasonable offer. i also have a passenger side fender w/headlight and asembly i will also be selling my engine and probably the tranny 4spd i dont know the condition of the engine the oil seams clean for the cars age and the PO said it needed a dizzy but the compression was good. i took out my fuel tank and it had a lot of rust i heard people take them to radiator shops to get them cleaned. does it work? or should i get a fuel cell? i will do the rb26 swap but i wanted to keep my fuel tank because i can use the stock filler and a fuel cell i will have to fab something up to use the stock filler because i want the rear floor to look as if nothing was done. any ideas let me know ive searched and all i saw was fuel cells with the filler inside or behind the license plate. thanks

the z i purchased for 6bills is in good shape its missing the center console and the charcoal cannister and its got a bad dizzy and is missing the radiator hoses im going to strip the interior and get the insulating tar like stuff out and check for rust even though it looks good who knows what is hiding there the frame rails underneath the car are exellent and the rails under the battery tray have only surface rust which i kind of expected it to be really bad its not i got a wire brush and attached it to my drill and it was all coming off. the only thing is it was starting to rust inside the cowl area and i have no idea how im going to fix that. thank you all for all of your help.

i just purchased a z 2 days ago and its not too bad and i found out there is no such thing as rust free i will post pictures of it within the next couple of days and you guys tell me if its good or bad choice. the rust ithink that its not too bad floor boards are good the frame rail behind the motor mounts thats where the rust begins other then that its a good solid car and it doesnt have a center console its a 1975 280z the engine is intact the prev owner said it was the dizzy. it doesnt have one of the rear drums. i thought that i rather replace things like that then replace floor boards and frame rails even though i still dont know how bad that rust is i still think its not too bad for 6bills.
