the journey of my fairlady.....
- the journey of my fairlady.....
ok, after an age i finally decided on the colour. a slightly lighter shade of old english white. It would have been nice to choose the o.e 904 white, but frankly it's a bit washing machine white for my liking. Don't be fooled by the flag on the wall, we are still in the u.k. Gary, the painter, is well into his u.s trucks and muscle cars.- the journey of my fairlady.....
a few months later and a plan in hand she's of to be stripped ready for the next outing. the body shop.- the journey of my fairlady.....
hello everyone, all being well my 'fairlady' project should be ready early next year,so i thought i'd share my progress with some pictures and comments. i hope its of interest. It all started with the dreaded e bay (addictive to say the least). Quite a rare occurance when a californian 73 240z is listed on uk e bay site, when the car was still state side. What attracted me the most was the seller was a trader who's shipping costs quoted was 'very' reasonable, especially at that time the exchange rate was two dollars to a pound. I requested the usual extra pics of rust prone areas, which were provided in abudance. It still was a massive gamble to bid,but bid i did and i was the only one who did. 10 weeks later the car landed at the docks in the u.k. Luckily it was a gem, as was the seller (Mark Mitchell aka Motorama). A true gent. No rust, never been welded/repaired and complete. As described a genuine dry state car. By the way the pics are from the e bay ad, palm trees like that in the u.k, don't think so!! I have tons more pics/progress and lots to tell, but work beckons so i'll post more later.- anyone want to build an o.e zg replica??
ok guys. i must admit i was quite dissapointed in the interest in these. maybe price, maybe distance?? maybe zg not everyones cup of tea?? anyway thankfully most bits now sold. still available. lamp covers (on e bay currently) comp steering wheel. (e bay ) hinges. emblems. kameari racing ingnition kit (e bay) lovely schroth (a period favourite on jap track scene) harness thanks for looking and the compliments on the bits.- anyone want to build an o.e zg replica??
ok guys i've got a quote and heres the deal. i'm willing to take the hit on the shipping ($1200!!!). to your door in the u.s. for the whole kit i want $7500. i have far more in it than my original guestimation in my first post.(around $8500 usd). i've attatched a link to just a lower section from yahoo. 100,000 yen buy it now for just that piece. just take another look at the contents of mine and do some homework. this is a very good price. i don't want to split it, i really want someone who is passionate about finishing an excellent replica. and with this they can. http://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/145884683 if not sold here it will be going out to masses on the dreaded e-bay. save me from the dreamers.....please!!- anyone want to build an o.e zg replica??

hi guys, i hope i'm not out of turn in posting this thread in this section. i'm just gauging any potential interest to start with. having taken a radical turn around on my project i have for sale ALL the parts for an o.e authentic zg project. PLEASE REMEMBER I AM IN THE U.K SO ANY POTENTIAL INTEREST MUST CONSIDER THE SIZE AND WEIGHT WHICH WILL BE INVOLVED FOR SHIPPING. Alan 'the legend' Thomas aka hs-30 has personally inspected and confirmed the authentic-ness of my purchases. It has taken me nearly 2 years to source these parts from japan. some parts are virtually impossible to find now. the kit consists: genuine o.e refinished as new lamp cones. genuine o.e refinishd slam panel. genuine o.e refinished and painted (o.e gunmetal) urethane bumper. lower bottom section fitted with later air ducts (we believe is an early marugen shokai from japan piece. do some research he's the best in the business). marugen shokai flares/overfenders (i paid for the expensive nissan o.e options). o.e nos full fitting kit (all fittings and brackets) o.e lamp covers/stainless trim with seals (1 x nos 1 x super condition). o.e nos hood hinges. o.e nos rear centre bumper strip (mega mega rare). o.e emblems (proper early rare hood emblem not the 280z) o.e emblems (fender set x 2) o.e rear boot spoiler good condition . o.e kmh gauges full set. (hard to find). o.e nissan competition steering wheel (original early one not the later 10th anniversary. in super condition with no cracking). these cost me more than $7500 usd. i will post some pictures later this week (hopefully, but a bit busy with work). let me know your thoughts. :classic: thank you.- Too Intense Restoration Issues
troy was a true gent and we worked well in shipping plenty of gear over to me in u.k for my current project- Stainless Steel Bumpers for 240Z
quite correct sir. we also have very sound contact here in u.k who will 'eventually' distribute these once he's happy with the 'final' product. i think he may be implying that although the quality of the product will be excellent, the final fitment snags may 'still 'need sorting. they have possiibly jumped the gun in advertising them too soon.- seat hardware covers please!!
Thanks i'll ring les and find out.- seat hardware covers please!!
hi guys. trying to find a set of seat hardware covers for my 73 240z. troy at too intense list's them but is out of stock. anyone out there know of another supplier or have you guy's got any for sale. thanks in advance.- info on tod kaneko zed?
hi guys. just wondered if anyone knew what mirrors tod customised to his gorgeous 240? they are similar to the 'msa' flush mirrors, but smaller and neater.- A dreamer?
hey that's a scam!! the car is owned by our club member ryan. it is a 260. if you search on uk e bay it's listed on there for £5995.00 or best offer. that's a little more realistic me thinks.- conversion to rhdand going back to bare metal

hi guys. sorry, but back on the colours again! does anyone know what color or something damn close to this beauty? alan? thanks.- Seat belt options s30,240z??
hi gary. i really like how everyone finds there own ways to solve whatever issues they have with there z's. however due to the fact that most of my interior is new i fear that a set of twenty or so year old belts may stand out. i'll see if anyone else posts other options. if not i'll go the MSA route. but only when the british pounds gets stronger against the dollar. - the journey of my fairlady.....
