  1. Here's an update on the camber plate installation......I didn't dare put 'em on top......didn't want to take the verbal abuse from you guys!! Will post the pics of the coilovers and brakes later. Thanks for your advice. Guy
  2. Bruce......All 4 sets I've purchased were from Z Therapy and I must say they have been without a doubt......perfect! You've always delivered a product on time and as advertised. We give you a hard time sometimes but we appreciate the high quality of your product.....Thank You!!! Oh by the way Marty.....We masked off everything very well...glass beaded and painted with mag wheel paint.
  3. Carl......We did the dyno test with the SM's and an A/F meter and recorder. I'm not an expert, but my friend doing the dyno said the A/F was absolutely perfect through the entire rpm band. The only area it was running slightly rich was at idle. W/O the air cleaner we were running slightly lean at 7,000 r.p.m. I've got the chart on A/F if you need to know any specifics at different rpm. His comment was that even fuel injection doesn't run a better A/F than the L28 did! Guy

Carl......I agree, but try to find 215-50-16......I only found one tire and I can't remember who made it, but remember it was ugly! The 205-55-16 is 24.9" tall and 8.1" wide; The 215-50-16 is 24.5" tall and 8.5" wide; The 205-50-16 is 24.1" tall and 8.1" wide, while the 225-50-16 is 24.9" tall and 8.9" wide.

Jeff......You can notch the front valence at the bolt nearest the wheel and get some adjustment w/o cutting metal. The 225's look awesome, but have some limitations. Can't wait to try the 205-55-16's. Guy

Jeff......Appreciate the comeback......I think I will need to go to a 205-55-16 tire......I'm running 225-50-16's now on the green Z. I only rub when bottoming out or turning hard in reverse (rubs front valence). I've got 205-50-16's on the white car.....that tire is .8" shorter and almost an inch narrower than the 225's. The 205-55-16's should do the trick, and on the street the narrower tire doesn't tend to wander as much. It is important for future Panasport buyers to have the facts on offset before they buy. Trial and error is an expensive way to learn!!!!
  8. They're all 180 degree thermostats also.
  9. Faulty from the factory is my bet......there ain't enough pressure to bend it. Put it back together with a new thermostat.....then try it. If that doesn't fix it, go forth with radiator etc. Don't just start replacing stuff, that gets expensive. I don't blame you on the gauge....all my Z's (3) run dead in the middle and that's in a hot Virginia climate.....3/4's doesn't get it!
  10. Drilling out aluminum is tricky.......a good machine shop can put heli-coil insert threads in.......better than new and low cost!
  11. You can buy housing, cover and bolts from Motorsports.....800-633-6331
  12. Buyer beware!!!!
  13. Yeah, but is was tight as Hell wasn't it?
  14. Check out the last page on my restoration.......The rust you have will probably not be a quick fix, but will require major surgery to be done right. Remember....rust never sleeps! My bodyman made a great observation....there is a seam where the rear inner wheel well attaches along the lip of the outter fender. It never was sealed very well from the factory. Water is thrown up by the rear wheel and is driven in the seam....some stays around in the seam ( an area that rusts out quite often ) and some drains forward into the rear dogleg and sits....and rots. Fix the dogleg correctly, seal the seam with silicon and sleep better at night. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25643&page=5

WOW! Webdog......By clicking on to "SIZES GUIDE" you can really answer a ton of questions. I'm currently running 225-50-16's and it looks like (not sure yet 'cause I'm still in the process of installing coilovers) that those tires may rub on the fender lip. However when you plug in the 205-55-16's, you loose .8" total or .4" on each side which may work fine! Much cheaper than a new set of Panasports.

You guys blow my mind! All the info is much appreciated......I'll post pics when it's all done. Carl I still haven't got the P79 head back from Doc yet (you wanted to see pictures of the head shaved .080")......will update my L28 build when I get them. Also re much earlier questions re the L28 in my 70, I now have access to a dyno and will let you know results from tests with the SU's with SM needles. Thanks Guy

My dilema.....I've got a set of Panasport 16x7" wheels that worked great with the Eibach and Illuminas on the stock struts but with G/C coilovers, I believe that I'm gonna be limited to how much I can drop the car by the outside fender, not the inside strut. What kind of offet would you look for for this new application with the same size rims?

That explains it.....I'm definitely still living in the 70's........Thanks Arne.

I always thought that positive offset gave you a wider stance, therefore moved the wheel out from the hub.....thanks for clearing that up and answering my question.

All of my Panasports (3 sets) are "0" offset. When the car is lowered there is a lot more room on the inside strut side to go wider with the rim and tire size. How do you go about taking a wheel from "0" offset to say -10mm? Who would you take it to and can it be done?
  21. Pull the steering rack bushing caps and replace the steering rack bushings.....while you're at it, clean and paint the caps and replace the nuts with new cad nuts. We love to find new projects for you! It looks just fantastic!
  22. I appreciate the info......G/C certainly isn't very specific on installation instructions for the coilovers or the camber plate.Obviously someone else has had the same problem as mentioned in Jon's sectioning site. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=103860

You can buy a new spray bar from Motorsports......I believe I paid around $65.00.
  24. Thanks for the help....I'll try to post pics of the install. We're also installing Willwood disc brakes F and R. Guy

My three Z's are from Texas, Arizona and a car warehoused and not driven since 79 from Virginia.
