Stroker 3.1
BTW.....I'm still not sure which way to go on a flywheel. I'm going 240 mm, but not sure if I want to go light or not. I have a stock 240 mm flywheel that was lightened by the Z Doc......Eiji uses a 12 lb. flywheel. I'm leaning towards the heavier wheel as I spend most of my driving where torque is needed. I know the 12 lb. wheel will spin faster, but a heavier flywheel will be easier to drive at stoplight to stoplight and in a quarter mile sprint! Any thoughts?

Not sure riceburner. I'm spending the day with Eiji Monday to finish building the motor. I'll ask him. If you want me to check on anything else. Cheers....Guy

Front end overhaul
You are right Zedy, but there is some adjustment that can be made to fix that without modifying the stock valence. If you crawl under and take a look, there are some bolts that can be loosened to adjust the valence forward to get a 225 to clear when you are backing up.

Front end overhaul
If you run coilovers and drop your Z anywhere below stock height, you'll need camber plates and to tuck 'em in 3 degrees to keep 225 50 16's from rubbing. In my experience.

Yes I have and yes it is......pretty much.

Stroker 3.1
Eiji says he's hit 10,000 rpm. Impressive, but I wouldn't want it to live there long.

Front end overhaul
No spacers....not sure about offset.....wheels were on the car when I bought it.

Front end overhaul
These are 15 inch wheels, but I have Wilwoods on 16 inch wheels too.

Source for whole quarter panels
Yes they are still out there.... a friend of mine just sourced a passenger side quarter for $1200.00. Had to weld up the vent for his Series 1.

Stroker 3.1
Yeah.....Totally new territory for me....So glad my buddy Eiji is close by. I'll take the head up next week and work with him to put her together. He says 89mm bore...83mm stroke .3mm above deck....90.5mm x 1.29mm gasket....44cc head volume and 5.2cc piston volume. He said a 10.7:1 CR. Like I said....new territory for me! Anxious to see what she'll do.

Longer brake hoses - Anyone have them or made them?
How does that work....can you explain how you use this device?

Can't maintain fuel pressure
Cliff....Yes the 72 intake and balance tube....disconnect manifold water on all my cars. The 73's had a large chamber head....very different from the earlier cars....the only real difference that I can think of.....maybe it gave off more heat. Someone posted somewhere that the fuel pumps were different, but I can't see where that would be a problem.....but something causes these cars to vapor lock.
-
Can't maintain fuel pressure
3 screw or 4 screw.....no problem with the pre 73 Z's. 3 screw or 4 screw or flat tops are a problem in the 73's. It must be something else peculiar to the 73 cars. I don't have a clue, but all I know is I never had one case of vapor lock in any of the many 70, 71, or 72 Z's I've owned, but had a problem with the only 73 I've ever owned, even though it had 3 screw round tops. How about it.....anyone ever had vapor lock problems with a 70, 71 or 72 Z? Nissan never added insulation to the fuel lines till 73 which makes me think it wasn't a problem till 73.

Can't maintain fuel pressure
What puzzles me is that vapor lock only happens on the 73 and 74 Z's. even when you change to round top (early) carbs, you still have a vapor lock problem with the 73 cars. WHY???? I've never had a pre 73 Z give me a bit of problem with vapor lock....there must be a reason.....but my 73 gave me fits in the heat.....until I built a 72 motor for it....then, no more problems....why? Must be something peculiar to the 73 Z's.

Longer brake hoses - Anyone have them or made them?
Hardway.....I just finished installing Wilwoods on the front of my 73 car. The stainless brake lines are much longer with no effect on performance. It would be nice not to have to open the brake system to swing out the strut to change shocks or springs.....you would still have to remove e brake clip and outer halfshaft bolts in the rear.
