  1. Yes......I wasn't expecting that....I thought it would be retractable like my other 72.
  2. Hi Steve....The car actually was a California car that went to Colorado....then to Las Vegas. It had an 05 license plate on it, which means it sat out for the last 7 years.
  3. http://devour.com/video/vintage-race-car-crashes/ Racing has come a long way......

Anyone happen to have an inner shift boot retainer like the one in the first pic of post number 8 of this thread? If so, please PM me. Thanks Guy
  7. That valve cover is in my Gold 71, not the orange 72. That valve cover was bead blasted, primed with acid etch primer then sprayed with aluminum VHT paint.
  8. Sorry David.....Everything is already spoken for. Guy
  9. Hi Jeff......Probably stick with the Panasports. Regards Guy
  10. Carl... "Protect and Preserve". You saw my Safari Gold car in Savannah......You'll approve....I promise. Regards.....Guy

  12. Anytime Hunter........Will do Mitchell.
  13. Lots of plans. I have my new L28/L24 combo motor standing by. I'll put a manual tranny in....toss the auto tranny. I want to get rid of the louvers, the bumper over riders. Front spook on, slot mags off ( Bold-U, pm me if interested in the wheels / tires) If anyone is interested in any of the stuff coming off, PM me. The interior is damned near brand new....everything works including power antenae....not sure about the clock. The bumpers will go to Denver Bumper to have the holes filled....European style. Another toy.....love these cars!

  17. Sorry Ray......I just took the pictures.....I'm an L series motor guy.....I haven't owned a V8 since my 67 Camaro. Someone else might be able to tell you.
  18. From ZCON......The owner took 1st in class plus a special trophy for scoring 98 or above.
  19. .....more pics....ooops I duped one!
  20. Nice day......nice cars....etc.
  21. Anticipation......You have to time the amber lights....intuitively so you actually nail it before the green light. It takes practice watching the lights to anticipate the green. You may get disqualified occasionally, but that's what drag racing is all about.......cutting seconds off the clock.

Hard to tell for sure, but looks like an awful lot of wear (groove) in the exhaust rocker. I'd replace the rocker and put it back together. See if that fixes your problem. Check to make sure the oiler hole to that rocker is completely open.

Why not pull the rocker and take a look for wear on the wipe surface or where it makes contact with the lash pad. If the cam has worn into the rocker wipe surface (cupped), that could cause this phenomenum. I've never encountered such wear, but it could happen I guess.

Disconnecting a plug wire to see if a noise quits is the way you check for a rod knock......if the noise gets quiet when you disconnect the plug wire it could indicate a loose connecting rod.
  25. Well put Zedy......you're right about Eiji. His motors are a thing of beauty and perfection.....well worth the wait.....and the head is where power comes from.
