  1. Did you use a shower liner? Got any pics?
  2. Spindle pins are tough - I tackled this over the winter. Hacksaw and seperate. Take the parts to your local fabrication shop and have them press out. I bought a Hybrid spindle pin puller and striped it out in a matter of moments...........there went $60 + shipping
  3. ^^Agreed^^ I was going to jump in but not with the indentions. Maybe a heat-gun could remove them and maybe not.
  4. Found this tonight looking for other info: This may not apply to your case but it could apply to somebody else researching this thread: GROWLING FROM REAR AROUND 70 MPH This is usually due to a worn out rear joint on the driveshaft. Go under and twist the driveshaft joint where it bolts to the differential. There should be no slight clicking or play, but after 30+ years it's gotta go sometime. Unfortunately, the joints on 280Z/ZX driveshafts aren't replaceable. Nissan made them cheaply by stamping the joints in, so there's no way to remove and replace the circips and joints. The junkyard is a good place to get a replacement but you're still stuck with a very used part. The solution is to have a custom driveshaft made, about $300 dollars. Either look in the yellow pages and find a driveshaft fabrication shop, or contact Powertrain Industries. These guys are Nissan specialists and made me a custom driveshaft which was very high quality.
  5. Look me up - I will be at the car show on Saturday
  6. The drive shaft is held by 4 bolts - if you remove the bolts - rotate the driveshft 180 degrees and rebolt. It will re-align the drive shaft. Or - take it to a balance shop and have it balanced. You could still have a new u-joint hung up in a bind.

  11. The two OEM are on the worksheet - the fill tank hose is not but just tell them you need a fill tank hose - it's pretty basic.
  12. Attached above - The Ferrari is one hell of a car - in full automatic it downshifts and upshifts dead on - the engine and transmission work perfectly together. No gear shift at all - it's all paddle shifters or don't touch anything if you are in the automatic mode. Amazing machine to say the least. Well worth anybodies time and money - this company travels the nation at the motorsport parks. Go out and do it - for some of us it will be the only way to drive some of these supercars.
  13. How often does somebody tell you "Hammer Down" in a Ferrari?!? My wife took me and our son out for a "track day" - a total surprise to me for my birthday! We drove a 458 Ferrari - Lambo and a GT-R.........it was a great day! I can totally understand why the call the Lambo "The Bull". Our speeds were between 120 and 140 MPH. 14. There are three OEM parts still out there - The Fill Tank - The stragiht line that is about 7 ft long (blue Color) and the Green one. Just take the part numbers to you local Nissan Parts Counter and they can quote you direct. Takes about 2 days to get them in and no freight cost and no internet mark up. My dealer gives me all parts with their body shop discount of 20%
  15. Anybody planning on coming to one of the best driving roads in the nation? I've been for several years in a row now and it is an annual event for me and my son. What a great way to get out and meet people in our Z community. Be sure to travel some on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The speed limit is 45 MPH - it is Federal Property so if you get a ticket you go to Federal Court. Not really the place for speeding - but the view are the best, without a doubt Great people, cars, and roads to enjoy! Be sure to get registered soon. ZDayZ 2014
  16. Even my wife noticed that my clothes did not smell like exhaust after driving now. Over the winter I removed my vapor tank and gas tank to POR15 them – It’s one of those “while I am at it” things, so I might as well tackle the vapor hoses. Be sure to follow this thread as well - http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/tech-pubs-howto/25857-rating-factory-240z-fuel-vent-hoses.html I replaced all hoses with nice new fuel hosing – two were Nissan replacement parts – the rest were not I have driven with the windows up - one window down - and both windows down. Exhaust smell is 99% gone...... Here you go if this can help somebody else - make sure you ONLY USE FUEL HOSE for this task: 1. Yellow Dotted Line – 3/4 “ 2 ft long 2. Blue Dotted Line – ½” 7 ft long 3. Orange Dotted Line – 5/8” 47 inches long 4. Green Dotted Line – Nissan 17239-E4601 Formed - ordered from my local NISSAN parts counter 5. Blue Solid Line – 3/16” 47” long 6. 17. Here are a couple things to check How far away is the exhaust tubing to the diff housing - is it touching? Is you exhaust hung with rubber strips or are they hard hung? Have you driven the car at 70 MPH and pushed in the clutch and listened? Have you rotated your half shafts 45 degrees to see if that helps - you could have a u joint in a bind on one of you half shafts. Remove both sides and inspect the U Joints on both sides - you can not do this with them on the car. Make sure they are moving freely in all directions
  18. Wow- tough story. Great persistence though!
  19. Put these in a few years ago - would highly recommend! I put my original refoamed-reskinned seats in storage. Doubt I will ever put them back in the car.
  20. Hope you cleaned the ground for the fuel sending unit harness "while you were at it".
  21. I second the black engine bay - if it is done correctly - but it is totally owner preference
  22. There are 3 different calipers sizing that you mentioned above. Depending on you wheel size and offset you may need spacers. You may want to look at S/S brake lines as well and dump your s-curves. Be sure to review your pushrod length for proper adjustment.
