  7. It looks like the Datsun 280Z made Hagerty's lastest best buy listing for car valueed under $5000. http://www.hagerty.com/lifestyle/hobby_article.aspx?id=66562
  8. Fabio- You may want to try to find one of the cars that Nissan re-issue back in the90's...........these cars were subbed out to different shops in the California area and they were completed restored and Nissan re-issued the Datsun 240Z for a short period - these cars do pop up on eBay sometimes - then again, you could always get in touch with one of the shops and have them completly restore a car for you.........all it takes is a few bucks!! Good luck on your search!
  9. Dave- My loving wife bought me one of each for Christmas - I've got them all on but the car is on jack stands (due to the winter season and winter projects). I'm really stoked about spring and getting her out and driving at night!
  10. Randy- I'm driving over to see Roger in the next week or so to pick up a couple of parts (I'm over in Boone NC). If you can not find your parts, while I'm at Rogers I can grab what you need and then we can meet on my way out of town. Roger works by appointment and he and I have already discussed my needs. Let me know if you still need the part next week.
  11. Two days ago I had to have tractor move a drift in front of my garage, 5 ft tall, so my wife could get her car out of the garage. We had snow Friday and Saturday with another storm rolling through Monday for a 3-5 more inches. I bet we have not had any meltage in over 2 weeks now with snow everywhere. I was out last night celebrating Valentines Day with my wife and the sidewalks were getting plowed at 9:30pm, and yep, it was still snowing.
  12. Try Black Dragon 1-888-789-DRGN Item Number 79-881 Bushing Bell Crank 240-280 70-78 $1.95 each The retaining clip is: 79-672 $.45
  13. Didn't most of us think about that in the late '60's with George Jetsen and his boy Elroy? Great advise with the above threads. Fixing these cars up is not cheap and it takes a lot of money, time, and a very understanding wife!! I thought in the late '70's I would have my '73 forever.........things change with age. I am fortunate enough (along with others on this site) to have the means to be able to live our lives and enjoy this passion that we all share. I would put that turbo on the back shelf as well and make sure the main issues with the car are all resolved along with finalizing the body.
  14. It looks like the East Coast is in for it again today and tomorrow and again for the weekend. I'm glad I've ordered some more stuff from MSA to have another project for this weekend - it doesn't look like we will be going anywhere. Forecast for the next 48 hours is .........BLIZZARD..........heavy snow with 70 MPH winds.........and another storm for the weekend...........I give up!
  15. We have a some sunshine today and tomorrow forecasted - but more snow Tuesday and high winds on Wednesday (my biggest gust so far is 104MPH - crazy huh) with...........you guessed it.........more snow next weekend!! Give us a break!!!
  16. Snowed for the past 3 weekends and iced the weekend before that, and the weekend before that we got 18". We got 11" in the past two days this weekend. A little sunshine and meltage would be great!! I did work in the garage on the "Z" and got some of my "to do" list completed: Installed replated gas tank lid and ring - Zeddfinders Removed heat shield - cleaned - sanded - heat painted Removed accelerator linkage - cleaned - reinstalled Installed New Steering Coupler Installed New Fuel Filter
  17. I used Rustoleum from Lowes Hardware - not to high gloss - and a clear coat. If not, in a weeks you will wish you did!
  18. I agree with the above post ^ - don't do it. Maybe as a second parts car if anything!
  19. http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Results.aspx?Ntt=brake%20booster&Ntk=Keyword&N=599001+101976+50018+2018014 Not used but............available. Be sure to give a new one a coat or two of paint and a shot of clear..........
  20. Try Norm Murphy for some of the hard to find parts - He and I were talking Sunday and he said he had tranmission tunnel insulation. He can also replate door strikers - engine parts - zeddsaver@zeddsaver.com http://www.zeddsaver.com/
  21. I did the same as both of you but also put it in the headliner area. I reached as far as I could were the antenna and the gas tank side are. It is a big difference inside the doors as well as the cockpit area. Huge difference when you are driving the car. Logan1 great looking project.
