  1. Merry Christmas to all..........hoping Santa is good to each and every Zcar out there, and their drivers too!
  2. Rob - I only drive my Z about 2000 miles per year - only on beautiful days and never on a gravel road. I do no interstate driving (I have an overabundance of twisty's right in my back yard - the closest interstate is an hour from my house - who would want to drive on a flat 4 lane anyway!). With that in mind the mesh filters work for my driving style. If I was more on interstate or using it as a everyday car I would change my filter style. Hope that helps. As far as how much filtration these filters offer I'm not sure how to honestly respond to that.......
  3. I've got a Momo shifter and Momo steering wheel - fantastic grip on both - I will not be going back to the OEM items (got them in storage though).
  4. I put these in last year - HUGE difference in horn volumn and quality! http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/compact+italian+air+horns.do?sortby=ourPicks
  5. Found a deal I could not refuse on a 2012 X6 (Jet Black / Black) - gotta get it shipped from Boston after the frankenstorm is over - pic's to follow once shipped to NC. Keeping the X5 - too good of a car to trade and too many miles left to drive - she will make a great truck for my wife. Peabody BMW - a great bunch of folks up north to deal with.
  6. Rogers wife was killed in a car crash last year. He sold a lot of parts to a lot of people all over the world. He has a few different business interests. The last time I was at his home he had but all the Z items in trailers and built a shelving unit so he could find most every item in it's own bin, he had 2 or 3 trailers in his backyard nicely organized. His knowledge and good will helped a lot of Z owners such as myself with our restorations and refreshes. He is missed in our Z community.
  7. Keep the info flowing - my setup is dead on with no problems. My rpm band is solid as far as I want to go - fuel pump is a little loud but once you get to rockn' around 4-6000 rpm who can hear the fuel pump. I did just install a 5 speed a few weeks ago and man did the rpm's drop in crusing speed - I did install a R180 diff 3.90 - great for my set up and tons of get up and go! Unless I see some earth shattering news I'm leaving my set up where she is - AF gauge is spot on...........don't want to goof it up now! I could see selling my SU's sometime in the future.......gotta think about that one...........
  8. Welcome to the family!! http://www.wolfcreekracing.com/
  9. Looks like a great find ....... Enjoy!
  10. I used SEM on the back seat of my 1929 Ford Roadster - be sure to use the Prep/Cleaner - use it with good ventilation. Once you apply the color you can not scrape it off - it is really a dye, not an interior paint. Highly recommend it to anybody just so you do the prep/cleaner correctly.
  11. I'm at 3.5 psi - no troubles at all with my Carter at any RPM. The only time I can really hear my fuel pump is at initial start up when I turn on the key.......no switch-er oo for me.
  12. Getting ready to install a R180 3.9 diff and a 81-83 5 speed - replacing seals on the diff - no backlash at all - all teeth look great -POR 15 / total rebuild on the 5 speed - bead blasted - painted. Hopefully be done by Sunday with this phase of the transformation.
  13. Guy- Great looking projects - Did you leave in the original 4 speed to upgrade to a 5 speed? I just located a R180 3.9 and it's due in on Tuesday.
  14. I tried to order one of these from Nissan - there was a large showing of Nissan at the ZDayZ event this past spring at Tail of the Dragon - I had no success this year but will try to dig a little deeper next year.
  15. So - bottom line - would you go back to your SU's by choice?
  16. In a stock 4 speed moving to a 3.54 would be a noticeable difference with acceleration - the only challenge is with 60mph your taching in the 3K mark. If you don't do much interstate driving is not too big of a deal -
  17. I'm doing a 5 speed swap as well (82-280zx) and moving to the 3.9 diff - I like more spirited driving. I will put the 4 speed and my 3.5 diff in storage like the other stuff I have been collecting (or should I say "swapping"). Just for record my 4 speed with the 3.5 diff is very spirited!
  18. Steve - I believe I would call Dave Rebello since his engine is in your car (hopefully you purchased the engine from him directly) and tell him your story. Dave does a lot with racing and Mikuni's, and engine building - this is right up his alley- he may be able to give you set up that has worked for him in the past - he keeps all his set ups and dyno's so he can back track if needed for future set ups..................just a thought. He and I talked about me getting a larger venturi but I do not want to bore mine out / I want to buy an extra set and then have that set bored out. More air = more power! Do you have many jets to play with? I have a decent collection if you need to try before you buy. It gets expensive after a while of trying and buying. Let me know
  19. Welcome to the site - it is the drivers side fresh air vent - the passenger area has one also.
  20. Any current members running this transmission in a S30: Nissan Maxima (1983-4) has the following ratios 1st 3.321 2nd 2.077 3rd 1.308 4th 1.000 5th 0.752
  21. Don't let the first 30 seconds of this video fool you - are you ready for Grand Prix America?
  22. In North Carolina you still have to have a valid in date license plate with your car at all times but you can have any vintage plate on the car. This is for 25 years or older for antique cars.
