tried to turn it into a rice rocket
  2. I was thinking about getting some different seats for my car but my interior is tan so I just want to see if anyone else has swapped the seats. You can pull just about any color of seat with a black interior but I think i'll be limited to just black color seats.
  3. Or how about that 6 inch door ding/crease taken out that I got on Sat. after I just got my car repainted this summer.

My Tach gets stuck at 4k and I plan on getting a new tach, I have a 73 so will I have to get a tach from another 73 or maybe even out of a 260z? Thanks!
  5. Good job on the site and nice car too.

Sorry for your loss man, good luck finding another shell too.
  7. Kinda cheap how the wires from the speakers hang out of the door when it's open.
  8. My Z is my daily driver so I don't really have a choice. At the moment it has been raining a lot and I'm driving around on bald tires cause I spent all my money on paint for it.

This morning when I was driving to school I turn the heater on and the fan starts making this loud annoying pinging noise. I know its the fan because I tested it on the vent too, same noise and the pinging increases speed as I turn the knob up higher. Any ideas, is my fan dying? Thanks
  11. I would say go with the 240z, but I have never owned a 280z or really had experience driving one. I wouldn't imagine the body would be less rigid, the 280 probably just had to be bigger to hold all that extra crap for emissions. Either way I'm sure you'll have a blast with whichever you choose.
  12. I would totally be in for that, I need to order a new one soon anyway
  13. Removing the door Panel - first take the screws out of the arm rest thing (easy) then that handle thing you can grab, you'll have to pull those chrome plastic pieces off. -for the actual handle on the inside there should be a little lip in the black plastic you can stick a screw driver in and pop off. There will be a screw to unscrew, pretty simple. - Hard part is the window crank, there should be a little metal clip that you have to pull off, you'll need tweezers or needle nose pliers, its in between the crank and the panel, once the clip is off the handle will slide off. - unscrew the chrome lock thing at the top -slowly pull the panel off, there held in with a metal piece that pops into the door, not to sure how to describe it, anyways it fairly simple to pop off. It should be off now and just hope you have small hands to get inside the door.
  14. I'm a senior in high school and I avoid the traffic going in and out of the school at all costs when in my Z. I've seen plenty of ditsy girls ram into the back of cars including a car I was driving while talking on cell phones. It is pretty hard for me to do anything but drive in my Z between paying attention to traffic, shifting, not having power steering and trying to figure out where that rattling noise is coming from. If the phone call is that important I pull over in a parking lot. Personally I think there should be some kind of law against it.

I ended taking it to Linex where they spray on bed liner. The guy sprayed my grill for 30 bucks and it looks sweet. I'll post some pics later

Wonder how much that would cost? Thanks for all the advice!

I dropped my car off on the 5th to get painted and will get it back around the 18th. So in my spare time I am going to repaint the grill. I plan on using a can of spray paint, any recommendations on what type of paint. Thanks

Just have them as loose as possible that way you can still reach every thing
  19. Yep, that's what I've been trying to do, I'm just having trouble removing that clip
  20. I need to reomve the handle on the car for when the car gets painted. It looks like it would be easiest to remove it right there at the clip.

I unscrewed the blinker lights on the side of the car and removed all the rubber from them and cannot figure out how the wires come off of the light. I didn't want to pull to hard for fear of breaking it. Any help would be great, Thanks! I have a 73, dont know if it makes a difference though.
  22. I tried getting that plastic clip to pop out for a good hour and then for a half hour during my break at work with no luck. The plastic clip looks like you could just pinch it and it would slide out but it doesn't move at all. I've tried to pop it out of place with a screw driver and pulling on it with needle nose pliers with no avail.
  23. Bring this thread back, but heh better than starting a completely new one. My question is if the the plastic clip that is holding it will break or fall down inside the door. Basically I'm just removing it for a paint job and still need to put it back on. Thanks!

Can you guys pull your keys out of the ignition while the car is running?

Funny story, I was removing a lot of the stuff on the exterior of my car to get it ready for a paint job and while removing the rear bumper I noticed there was a Hide-a-Key stuck on the inside. Much to my delight I opened it up to reveal one of the original keys.
