my wipers stopped working all of a sudden. i read some previous posts about this and have noticed that the rubber boots are totally missing on mine. i'm pretty sure there is still power going to the wiper motors becuz every time i turn the wiper switch on i see the amp meter flicker a bit, in addition to that i can still hear the wiper motors when i turn the switch on. i hear a quiet noise like the motors still moving but the wipers don't actually move. i can also move the wipers freely left and right with my hand when the wipers are off. i didn't try to move them when i had the wiper switch on. should i just take them apart and try and clean them out? the base of the wipers where the rubber boots are supposed to be are rusted on the outside.

my pedal goes almost all the way to the floor before it starts to work. i don't think anything is leaking cuz i always check the brake fluid level and it never goes down. i brought my car to the local z shop and he took it for a drive and said that's it's probably my brake booster. he swapped it out with a used one , and he said it brakes way better now. i kinda disagree, it is slightly different but pretty much the same. now i'm no mechanic but isn't there some way the mechanic could've inspected the brake booster, master cylinder, or calipers to see what the problem was before he changed my brake booster? he just assumed it was the brake booster and changed it. anyways, i wasn't too happy with that cuz i spent money and now it's still the same. i was thinking it was the master cylinder. i was thinking of buying a master cylinder off ebay for my car(71 240z) but the mechanic said it's not good cuz it may not be the right one and i should buy a new master cylinder from nissan. the one from nissan costs $600CDN i think. if i buy one off ebay is there anything i should check or look for to make sure it fits my car?

i have heard of boring and stroking out the l28 to 3.1 liters, but has anyone done it to the l28et(280zx turbo)? is it possible to make a 3.1 liter turbo? sorry if this is a stupid question....
  13. i wanted to change the hazard and dimmer switch on my 240Z... it looks as if i may need to take the dash out to get access to behind the switches... is there and easier way?......i haven't taken a really good look yet but wanted to know the easy way of changing these switches..

i was also thinking it was a short in the switch itself... but funny thing happened this morning.. i went to my buddies house to get my belongings out of my car as it was gonna sit in the alley for another day or so and i also re checked the fuses and looked for the fusible links by the starter which i could not find... then when i was done cleaning out my car i just thought, what the heck lets try and start it...first crank and....vrroom! it just starts!whats with my car? weird....any ideas?

it started when i saw sparks coming out of my light switch at the base....i have been currently driving without my steering column covers so my light and signal switches are exposed...i started my car and it was fine, then as i turn the light switch to the first click(park lamps) it was fine, as i go on to turn the lights on there were sparks at the base of the light switch where the wires are soldered...right where you see the soldering joints is where sparks came out and then the engine would die... i turned the lights switch off and started my car again and it started, then as soon as i turn my lights on sparks again and the car dies....this time i tried to start it again but it wouldn't start.. i didn't check yet, but i assume one of my fusible links are blown... before i even go there, i'm trying to find out why it sparked...my park lights and dash lights are getting no power as they don't work(from before this happened) when i turn my lights on, does this mean that the power that would usually go to these lights are going to my headlights or light switch and causing more amperage and voltage to go through there?
