  1. Oddly, I have just a backing plate with no cover. I had no ideas they come off. I'll have to dig it out and send you pic if you want.

Hey Dave if you go will you ask if they have a paint and body guy they would recommend. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

Are you trying to connect the 350z tranny to the L6 engine? I searched for FS6R31A which is the Manual 6 speed from the 350z and only 5 post came up. Only one person asked if this swap has been done and it appears it hasn't at least there. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/59374-350z-trans-l24possible/?hl=fs6r31a#entry543739 Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

You can do anything if you have the skills. If you don't, you must have the money. There is a whole section on HybridZ for V6 swaps. Read, read and read some more. Don't ask any questions until you have read. You can spend months reading everything there is so much information. http://forums.hybridz.org/forum/35-nissan-v6-forum/ If you can't find it searching on hybridz use google to search the site.
  5. Not sure if you have Autozone up there, but you can rent and return the noid light testing kit for free with a deposit. I think the other parts store do as well.

Interesting. When you go ask them if they used to be in College Park. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

Dave, post a link. The Z tech I remembered is long gone and was in College Park.
  8. Did you check that each injector was firing? Wiring only. If you don't have a noid light I just used an old injector laying around that I had and you can actually check by turning the engine over without running it. Did this car sit a long time? Also when the engine was at TDC did you check to see if the rotor was pointing at cyl 1 in the distributor?

The 350z is not bolt in. The r200 87-89 LSD will be the easiest complete bolt in as a unit. If you want to take the rear end apart you could always do the OBX or quaife. The hardest par will be finding a used LSD at a reasonable price.

CLSD is fine. The r200 280z axles will slide right in. You also have to take the pinion flange from your current r200 over so the drive shaft will mount properly and the diff cover too. Or you can get the support from Arizona Z car so you can run the diff cover: http://arizonazcar.com/diffmount.html There are other cheaper options out there for running the finned cover. Not sure if he's still making these or not: http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/98295-steel-brace-for-r200-clsd-finned-cover-in-s30-new-list-and-design/?hl=r200

Late 87-89 300zx Turbo Rear end, which are getting hard to find. Also the 88 has two flavors, CLSD and VLSD, but the VLSD only came in the Shiro's. You must have the axles if you use the VLSD. Could always spring for a quaife. https://shop.quaife.co.uk/catalogsearch/advanced/result/?vehicle=4&product_type=11&sub_type=16&manufacturer=53&model=437&q

Funny, at one point in our marriage about 7 years ago, my wife told me I was crazy and needed help, unrelated to Z's of course, so I spent a year in counseling just to prove I was the sane one! At the end of the year it was quite nice to be considered "normal", whatever that means!

^^^^ Good point! gnosez, what are you doing with so many extra doors and hatch? Did you just save them when you scrapped the cars?
  14. Thank you!
  15. Good luck!
  16. Don't sweat the small stuff. Remember it's just the internet and tone doesn't come across. Folks are just trying to help.
  17. Nice! Those were definitely expired.
  18. Nice look forward to seeing it done. Are you going to add the cover over that hole to keep the oil in the catch can down? On the side like that I could see you getting a lot more.
  19. Have you gone through all the checks in the FSM section EF-18 through EF-24 (Engine Fuel): http://www.nicoclub.com/manuals/280z/1977/77_datsun_280z.pdf if you down load this PDF, this starts on page 100.
  20. Mine was the clip for the brake booster pin. I had few extra thin pins for the 73 and up, but none for the early style. Yeah both my wife and I laughed. Sucks getting old, neither of use see very well any more.
  21. Plugs don't lie! You have an overall pic? I have one AFM and the car runs perfect. I have another and it pops through the AFM.
  22. Those look pretty dark for only 15 min of run time. The boot from the AFM to TB doesn't have any tears in it? Can you post a pic of the engine when you get a min?
  23. I lost my pin, spent an hour searching for it made a new one, then found the old one where I lost it and looked like 10 times!
