    Drool!!! I'd never go home!
  5. Still check the oil for milky condition. You want that oil out of your motor ASAP if there is water in in.

So curious you washed the tank and got all the big chunks of rust out and then used a only a pint of pure muratic acid for 3 mins? We're you also constantly turning the tank? If I recall when I did mine I cleaned best I could filled half with water and added a hole gallon of muratic acid then filled the rest with water. I let mine sit for about an hour, dumped the nasty mess and let a hose with clean water run for about 15 min.

Good info. Thanks. I did my 78 with muratic acid and clean water. I didn't have the flash problem but on the 75 tank I need to do I will remember this.

This is a 79 ZX clock. Notice how the face isn't completely round. I just pulled this today as I was curious on your post and curious myself. You might be able to figure something out but it won't be easy. The other thing is the plastic face screws right to the front of the 3 pod bezel making adjust the hands an issue. And of course it doesn't sit square either. Two wire hookup is a breeze and still tells time pretty good!

    Sold, thanks Spoofan.
  10. The condition of the start is what has me concerned. That just doesn't sound right. Did you check to ensure you PCV isn't clogged? Also check to make sure you water Is not milky.

I notice your distributorless. What Ignition are you running. Coil pack reminds me of an old electromotive tec2.
  12. Don't tell that to Edison! Just look at it as one more way to not make a lightbulb work!

Anyone have a decent set at a reasonable price?
  14. JSM replied to geekin's post in a topic in Fuel Injection
    So any luck?
  15. Did you also check the fusible links in front of the battery? Those are also fuses. Use a continuity tester don't just assume they look good.
  16. JSM replied to siteunseen's post in a topic in Wheels & Brakes
That's fine, but what is the purpose? If air is needed to be drawn in, the sealing does what? It's still open to air. Maybe it helps with control of the needed air?
  17. JSM replied to siteunseen's post in a topic in Wheels & Brakes
What was the logic on the sealant?
  18. JSM replied to siteunseen's post in a topic in Wheels & Brakes
In the few I've done I've never seen any sealant that I can recall. I just did my power booster and there was nothing. Maybe the PO dabbed some on just in case it weeped interernally? I've never lubbed the plunger. It should be pretty dry in there.
  19. Hey Chickenman why is that.
  20. Anything for the ZX in the works?
  21. From http://xenonzcar.com/s30/files/FSM/1978 280z FSM.zip Section "EC Emission Control System". If you have any unplugged hoses, plug them up.
  22. Yep that is it.
  23. So I'm assuming you haven't run them yet? If your having issues then maybe, otherwise I would leave it alone. I can't imagine shipping would be all that different then shakes and vibrations from a normal running car. Unless of course your box when shipped was and dropped from a very high distance in my opinion, but even then... The floats are not that delicate in their installed state. You should be able to handle them without any repercussions. Now hitting them with a hammer is a different story!

That is weird. It should work just the opposite. In an accident the fuel pump will continue to run. Lots of people run fuel pumps without safety measures but it is a risk.

Old post I know, it did you ever figure out what was wrong?
