Mark welcome. You have picked a great time to buy a Z car. I just started a new Z club in the NYC area: nyzcc.org Please be sure to check us out. Where in nyc are you? I am from The Bronx but live upstate now (rockland county). I am in the bx once a week and will be moving back soon. Can't wait to check out your s30! Lots of good people and information on this site and you have a lot of Z nuts near you. PM me for more on the club info or visit the site and say hello.
  2. My 71 has the same deal, one key does it all.
  3. Ok, I will snap pics of everything and see if it is what you want.
  4. Ok, I have one also from my 2/70 car with 46k miles on it. Should be a greenish/blueish in color?
  5. Arne, my 2/70 car didn't come with keys. So I guess I will have to get some made. Are the ones in that ebay ad.....real Nissan keys?
  6. So, I won the bid. We shall see how this purchase goes. The other bid was one cent lower than the buy it now......duh.....he had someone he knows bid it. Which is fine. I am hoping to strip the car there and leave him the shell to junk. If anyone sees anything they want or want me to look for something while I am there....post it.
  7. Thanks Ron! The car is cheap enough that I can get a spare set of strut housings to build coil overs for my 70 car without pulling the 70 car apart. I would really like to get that car done in a year or so. Also from this car, if it is an early hood...I would grab it for someone for cheap and any other parts I can think of....if I get the car. 30 mins from now it ends. It is def a June or July 70 car. Hopefully there are some other good parts (e-31 head, 4 screw carbs...etc).

Hey guys, I just wanted to share 2 more low vin cars my local club. First car is a 1/70 car: http://nyzcc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=344 Second car is a 6/70 car: http://nyzcc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=66 On our site we are going to keep track of any early Z car that joins the club and is in the state of NY or near the NYC area. I bought #1905 about a year ago and have not touched it. I have collected a few NOS parts for it. For pics on the car see link: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32987&highlight=1905 I have now plan to start stripping the car and doing the resto-mod. The car is very very solid. Great starting point for the L30t. I know that is not making some of you happy due to the VIN but at least it won't get a v8 Here is a link to the turbo build: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=141343&highlight=l30et The plans body wise is keep the car looking stock only a spook front air dam. Plan to keep the car silver and running coil overs, big brakes and some wheels from my old Z. Interior, plan is to keep it stock looking for the most part. Not sure if I will run a roll bar yet. This is going to be a very clean resto-mod. I will start bagging and tagging soon so parts can go to the platter and powder-coater. So you will see some of the oem parts for sale from this car.
  10. Hour to go, anyone going to bid?

Yes use .org the .com is down as of right now as we work on building the other half of the site. Thanks!
  12. Well someone did place a bid, I think I will try and grab it for a max $300.
  13. Not really much left on the series one itself though. All panels are rough, interior is all gone....no dash..keys?...door missing.

Club has grown over the past few months....check it out @ nyzcc.org!
  16. Really? I thought they were all the same. I was thinking about getting the car but waiting to hear back from the seller on valve cover. Car looks like a 6/70 built car not a 71. vin 6820. Hmm, richard maybe I will take you up on the offer.
  17. Jon the main reason I wasn't running the crossmember the first time because it made getting the q45 diff in and out 1, 2, 3! The car was tracked a few times and couldn't find any damage or reasons to think removing the crossmemeber had any negative effect.
  18. I also wondered if that was true. I on my old LS1 car, removed the crossmember and replaced it with two upright end caps. It made more clearance for my exhaust. I now have the crossmember in on the new setup just to ease my mind that it "should" be acting as a brace between the two control arms. Any idea on how to check that? Would imagine you can't just because real loads need to be there to check movement.

I thought I would make a quick post here for some of the guys I know who do not visit other Z sites as often. You may remember when I bought my 71 late last year and it looked like this: After some work this Summer and Fall, I was able to take her for a drive this past weekend. A complete motor and suspension swap from my old 73 car took place. This is what she looks like now: Just have a bunch of small things to finish over the winter.......then I get to move on to the 70 car.

Jim I am coming to FL the 14th of Nov and will be there for two weeks.....so we have to talk soon.
  23. What a great day today! Seriously, it was great to see a nice turn out, 20 Z cars and 3 show up without theirs! This is very important for you guys to know, only 6 of the 20 cars there today had made it to one of our first two bbqs. If we can get both groups (nyc/li & westchester/upstate ny) together at the same time....easily 40 cars. This number can be reached without one single 350z or 370z......amazing. I am looking forward to have those two models being active in the club next year. I have to start of by thanking Tom for taking care of this BBQ. He did all the leg work and like stated before paid for permits and such out of pocket...so again thank you for helping get this club off the ground.....sorry for being late....man of the day: Second I would like to thank the CTZCC members who made the trip to NY for the day. Finally have Frank come out of his state for a Z event is great! Also big big big thank you to Rick & Kathy for bringing #13 for us to see and speak about. Thank you for taking the time out to speak to everyone and give us the history lesson on the car and Zs! Anyone into dogs...speak to Rick......just another hobby of his! Rick & Kathy & 13: Lastly I would like to thank all of you for coming out and making this club worth putting in the time for. Met some new people and great looking cars. Again new friendships are being made and families are getting to know one another. The rain held off for us after 10am and the sun kept us warm when we were not in the shade. Everyone ate well I hope and we almost used up all the food this time! The burgers were great! Again thank you for making this a great 3rd bbq and as club prez I would like to say sorry for showing up late...even though you guyz had fun without me This is your club and I hope everyone is happy with the direction it is going....next year will be even bigger! Food Everyone having some food 2 1/2 hr trip from PA......car sounds sweeeeet! Very clean 280zx Not a Z but 9k mile Toyota owned by Tom's wife(Donna): Calling all Z cars: Shameless plug....I made it! Group pic: Zya you all next week for the CTZCC event and please watch the site over the next few weeks......lots of new info coming your way. Thank you all again.
  24. Rust free doesn't exist much.....Where in NYC are you? The club and I can help you look for a new body....visit us over on nyzcc.org I just got a call about a 79 zx but have not seen it yet for myself.
