  1. took the plunge and bought a Nikon d40 I just love this camera, and boy do i have a lot to learn with it. It came with some instructional dvd that i still have to watch, but i got antsy and just had to at least take some pics with it. so here some pics i took of my 280z. enjoy
  2. i am having the same problem with my z i changed the fan clutch and it did not help so it looks like i am going to have to check on the thermostat. temp runs the same but outside temp is about 110 Fahrenheit. it only heats up past middle when i am gunning the engine and tends to stay there after i bring it back down.
  3. holy crap that is one awesome z!! I love the whole thing 571 hp is just crazy!!
  4. when i opened this thread my mouth fell open, that is one nice looking z.
  5. looks awesome!!
  6. alright heres the pics of the floorpan rust and frame rails driver side passenger side some of these holes are clean through the metal
  7. thanks for all the comments looking at the plate on the drivers side door this 280 is actually a 77 with a build date of 12/77. all i plan on doing to it is some brake rehab (terrible noises) some new floorpans, some new paint and maybe some konig rewinds(i always loved the way those looked and now i have an excuse to pick them up)then i will have a very decent z on my hands.

well i never really notice the drop in hp when i am using the ac, my other car 89 acura legend drops very noticeably. this compressor looks alot like the same kinda compressor thats in my legend. all the ac equipment is new on my z. has anybody ever installed a rotary compressor on there z?
  9. hello all my name is mark, i recently purchased my 280z last week. I think i got a good deal, it had a rebuilt motor 8k ago (no paperwork though:( ), new exhaust, new headers, cai, redone interior, everything works, from the am/fm radio to the ac system. I paid $1900 but it does have some floorpan rust issues  wheel wells are in good shape. it has some patches of rust around the car. I have been looking for one of these for a long time and i bought it locally! so heres the pics of her and yes for some reason the original owner badged it as a zx but it is not. if anybody notice anything out of place or inconsistent please let me know.

ok heres an update! so i looked at where i did the work on the connectors, nothing out of place everything connected. so I decided since i was under the bonnet to go ahead and set the idle back to stock, because at 400 rpms it wasn't even close to what the fsm recommends. so i set it to about 800 rpms and what do you know turned the ac on and reved it, and problem is gone. drove the old girl around with the ac on and she ran like a champ no stalling or dieing. thank you guys so much for all the help and the link to the fsm.

oh ok it idled about the same before i changed them about 400 to 500 rpm when warm. i noticed no miss although it does idle a little rough. i couldn't get my solder gun to work (its really old:( ) so i just twisted them together and put some wire nuts on them till i get them soldered together. (if i did that wrong any suggestions on how i could install them)

hi i have a 78 280z which i just bought, I just installed new injector connectors ( i just cut off the old ones and connected the new ones, someone on zcar.com told me that it didn't matter which wire went where) these are the connectors i used well it seems to run fine now but when i turn on the ac whilst i am driving when i de-accelerate it stalls and dies, like i turned the key over. so i came home and turned the ac on while it idled, it was fine idling normal soon as gave it a little gas, it just dies. anybody got any ideas?
