  1. i've taken notice to the differences in not only the dash trim (brushed metal v wallpaper wood), but as well to the door panels --the GT-R (2000 GT) appears to have a very different arm rest and lower trim configuration than a non-2000 GT/240K. moreover, when doing a GT-R conversion, how does one acquire accurate interior panels? as well, it appears the rear passenger side panels are the same. yes or no? here are some comparison pictures: pic 1 and 2 are (apparently) from the GT-R; pics 3 and 4 are from 240K:
  2. thanks, Gary. i appreciate the Z cars, old and new. i'm a moderator on 350z-tech.com. i typically hang with the GT-R sister part of the forums. here is one of my cars, a 1996 240SX 5spd:
  3. i personally like to keep the original appearance as much as possible even if the seats are reproductions of vintage. but if you're going to auto-x the car, then a modern harness Recaro is okay.

i've heard Armorall is bad for interior pieces. cannot know why exactly, but i've been told to avoid it.

nice stuff! looks the part. old skool looks with new support levels. neato.
  6. i wonder if the faux-wood stuff can be simply steamed off? they make household steam cleaners. i imagine this is similar an operation to removing wall paper, so i would look into wall paper removing techniques as well. that is essentially what the wood stuff is.
  7. yes, i find myself reading and printing out entire threads as reference. the people here are surprisingly friendly and easy going and very aware of their cars. i'm absorbing stuff like a sponge. i can post some pics of my rides in due course. i have a few. as well, i see a san diego/socal member and i see the savannah, ga member. i moved to LA from Marietta, GA. so i've been to both san diego and savannah.
  8. hello everyone. i'm a Nissan fanatic and own several. am looking to acquire a 240K for restoration and conversion to GT-R. will be my first foray into classic Nissans. i like all kinds of cars so i will be lurking around and absorbing all i can here. you have a nice community and i'm glad to be part of it. -chad
