Well I pulled the trigger and bought a 4 post lift for my Z
You will love your lift! I do. Mine looks exactly like the one you have, but it is red and is from Superlifts.com and made in Missouri, delivered to my house and assembled by their people (who roam the country assembling their lifts, just like the Grasshopper). The only thing that I had to get was a spacer to go under the ramp where the hydraulic piston is to keep something from binding up. I've had it for almost 3 years now and it has been working fine. Enjoy yours! -Dana

Anybody try Cherrybomb Mufflers?
Yeah, that really spoke to me too! I'm hoping there is someone in the Z world who has tried them out!

Anybody try Cherrybomb Mufflers?
I was watching a Saturday morning car show on Speed (didn't recognize the host though) and they were talking about the different muffler products offered by Cherrybomb. They had cutouts and described the technology behind the design. On their website they have a sound link where you can hear the mufflers on a truck or Ford Mustang (no comment). They have a nice looking glasspack available, and the Turbo muffler looks like it would work nice. Has anybody here put them on their Z?

L24 performance upgrades.
I've been following this with some interest and Julio, that engine looks great! You are a couple of months ahead of me at least in your restoration. My 280Z is at the bodyshop now, but the engine has been done for a year now (3.1 stroker). I hear a lot of HP numbers thrown around, but very rarely any dyno numbers, so it's nice to know Rebello put it on the dyno for you (I'm assuming that's what they did). I talked to Dave when I was planning my build, but the distance between us kept me from going with his shop (I'm in SC).

3 Die...Will it ever stop?
How many people here got into some kind of accident with their first car? I did. I looked over to change the radio while I was leaving High School and rearended the girl in front of me. My dad made me pay for the damage, so I learned a valuable lesson there, but I still drove it like I stole it (I just didn't change the radio station anymore!). These days when I find myself being tailgated by a teen, I try to just get out of the way.

Z_Hunt: Driving event in NC/TN Mountains SEPT 20TH
Hello everyone! I thought someone might be interested in this event the Carolina Z Club is putting on, our first annual Z_Hunt. It's a driving event through the beautiful, twisty and scenic roads through Northwestern NC and Southeast TN. It's an interesting blend between a "Poker Run" and "Scavanger Hunt", IMO, and it will benefit the families of the NC National Guard. I have a 280Z that unfortunately will not be there because it is in the middle of a restoration (will be in my Silver WRX instead), but I'd love to see more Classic Z's at this event. Hope to see you there! Here are the links: http://carolinazclub.com/Z_Hunt08/Docs/Z_Hunt08_PR.pdf and the longer version in more detail: http://carolinazclub.com/ZHunt.html and our Forum thread at the CZC home: http://www.carolinazclub.com/simpleczc/index.php?topic=432.0 enjoy the drive, Dana CZC VP

Black Dragon, I know I forgot to check them for hoses and you were right, they have all the shaped hoses necessary. Thank you. PS- Anybody out there replaced their parking brake cables lately? Have any good sources?

I need help finding parts sources for...
Hi everyone, I am in the middle of my restoration of my 76 280, and I am having trouble finding a source for a few odds and ends: 1) My parking brake cable that comes from both rear wheels and mounts above the rear diff. It worked fine when it was on the road, but inspecting it after I took it off revealed the plastic sleeving around the cable at it's "U" bend is chaffed off. Further, the rubber dust boots at the end where it mounts to the drums are utterly deteriorated. I've tried all the popular vendors such as MSA, Black Dragon, Z Car Parts in Arizona, even Z barn for a used one and all of his are in similar condition. It is NLA new. Perhaps I can just repair it?? 2) Does anybody here have a favorite source for the short heater hoses that come from the firewall to the water valve and on to the heater core? They don't have to be braided like the originals, but they do have to be bendable without collapsing, and last a long time. Has anyone tried silicone? Will it hold up? Please post your 2 cents! 3)
