  1. This is my band's first music video. My car is featured briefly in it for a few scenes. I had to get the Z in it somehow yes, that's me singing hehe. Enjoy everyone. Thank you! Peeling Grey - James Quarterly (Music Video) - YouTube
  2. Hah! There were at least three other 260s that were stock....and presentable. I'll upload some pics tonight. I really hate to be the guy to say, "Why did that guy win?" But, after you see the pics maybe you'll understand. Trust me.
  3. Great cars indeed, and a fun show once again......But, I do have one question: Did anyone see the car that won best 260Z stock? Ummm........I am not saying a word for the moment. Just shocked.
  4. I paid over $150 here in California. I have a vanity plate, registration fees, and part of my payment goes towards a charity for the coast.....I'm about ready to drop the charity and vanity plate. My Z32 was just over $100.

Sure It is interesting indeed. I'd like to see this in real life.
  7. Tell ya what.....I am short on funds to get the processing going for new plates, but when I have the money I'll hit you up. Vanity plates cost more, and I need to keep my registration fees lower for next year. It should go to someone like you for sure
  8. Looking forward to returning to the original spot...Great memories revisited and new ones for sure. I'll be be the guy with the FRLDY Z plate....No, I do not own a right hand drive car. I've had thoughts of passing the open slot in the DMV records to someone that really deserves that vanity plate. Anyway, if anyone is in the Pasadena are hit me up! I would love to arrive in a small caravan.

Yes, I've read some really old threads on this board about structural integrity after such a modification. It sounds like something that of a roll cage would have to be installed? Nevertheless, if I had the money I would consider it. One reason why I bought my Z32 was because of the T-Top. It's like Michael Knight in a Z

http://zhome.com/History/240Accessory.htm Here's the link...Found it! And I stand corrected. The factory did not burn down .

I've read the story about how this was in the works as an aftermarket option back in the 70's for the S30; Yes, a first gen Z with a targa top. I cannot remember where I saw the article...Maybe it was on Zcar.com. It does not appear in my Google search either. Anyway, as the story goes the factory burnt down (or something) and so did the dream of having Z-Tops. Does anyone have any information on this? Also, has anyone ever seen an S30 with Z-Tops? I'd go for it.
  12. I'm glad your new sports car is working out. I never thought about the stress of driving an old Z around. I just figured the parts are out there and more plentiful than a Delorean or something like that. But, I read some of your blog and really admired the 240. I'm glad she has a new home. I gotta wonder how much the guy paid for . After all, bringing a car overseas is no small nor cheap feat. Glad to still see you around here even after Z life
  13. Arne: Do you like the Porsche more? I have to ask
  14. ....By the time I can afford such an engine, It may be time for a new tranny. Mine was rebuilt less than 100K ago. Still has a lot of life left in it. Good to know.
  15. When doing the turbo swap is it recommended to upgrade the the transmission that came with the ZX turbo?
  16. I'll take an old 2002 any day, or maybe a Z8. Other than that I'd much rather buy my old Z31 back.
  17. Agreed about the bumpers. One of these days I'm going to make the jump myself to the proper bumpers.....Though, I have to say those crash bumpers have saved me.

I would love to........I'll have no excuse when it's in SD in 2014. That's only a couple hours away.
  19. Man, does anyone else on this board even go? I am surprised.
  20. I'll be there this year. It'll be interesting to have it back on the street just like old times. Anyone going? Perhaps we can start a caravan? I'll be driving from the Altadena / Pasadena area.

    ......Whatever.
  22. Yes. So with that said it sounds like Nissan had to adapt quickly. Hence the 280Z is a rather remarkable achievement if you think of the sudden obstacles car manufactures faced back then. Of course I'm not bias
  23. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/pts/2938536685.html These are not exactly what you are looking for, but they are close like the other picture you posted.
  24. So, why not just keep it a 260 with compliant bumpers? It's funny that the 280 might have been rushed just to meet regulations. After all the 280 not only had a bigger bored engine, but introduced fuel injection to the series. I guess the question I should really be asking as well is when did Nissan decide to produce a Z such as the 280?
  25. Hard rubber.....Yeah, that's more like it.
