240Z Pic from Dock
Hello everyone. I have been searching for a vintage photo of the first boatload of Zs to arrive in America. So far no luck, but I have seen this image in some older Z car books. If anyone has one to share it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

280Z fuses
Thanks guys. I just took her for a spin and the lights now seem to work. Guess it was really bright today. Those stock display lights are kinda dim .

280Z fuses
Thanks. I just changed that one out. It's so hard to tell if the lights work now because of the daylight. Even cupping my hand around the clock doesn't tell me much.....Hope that solved it.

280Z fuses
The dash display lights do not work suddenly. I am trying to figure out which fuse is linked with those. I thought it was the headlights so I changed those fuses...No dice. The headlights work but the interior ones do not. Thanks!

PLEASE HELP ME figure out what is wrong!
What year is your Z?

85 300zx
Being an N/A and a Z31 I wouldn't pay more than 5K. Don't get me wrong, I love the Z31s as well.....But it is what it is. Low mileage is pretty alluring though.

R.I.P. Mike of Sunrise Z
Yes, I spoke with Art this morning upon dropping off my car. He is committed to maintaining that culture as that was the key behind Sunrise's success. Chris learned from one of the best so we should still be in good hands. Thanks for reading by the way. Mike was awesome and I'll never forget that guy.

I know he also trained Chris very well. So his leagcy continues.

Indeed. He had routes back to the early days of these cars. He will be missed.

R.I.P. Mike of Sunrise Z
I'm not sure if anyone has covered the untimely passing of Mike, the co-owner of Sunrise Z in Glendale, California. In any case I'd like to share my thoughts about the very sad news I heard today. I called Sunrise to schedule a brake job appointment for my 96 300ZX. When I asked for Mike or Art, Chris had informed me of Mike's death which occurred a month ago. I have to admit that it was one of those moments where I had to pull the brakes in my world and take a moment to absorb the shock of it all. Mike was one of the reasons I have remained a loyal customer to Sunrise for over ten years. He was in my experience one of the last honest mechanics. He was always very pleasant, knowledgeable, and had a way assure you that the job would get done. Mike knew his Z cars very well with nearly thirty years of experience. I believe he started at a Datsun dealership long ago. For more selfish reason I lament the passing of Mike. Like the rest of you Zs are a passion of mine. I have owned three of them; Everything from an S30, Z31 and now my recently acquired Z32. Mike performed most of the work on all three....especially on the 78 280Z. He was the main caretaker of my baby. Nobody knew that car better than Mike. There were times when I personally performed the maintenance on my cars. This was mostly due to financial reasons. Whenever I had a question about doing the repairs on my own Mike was just a call away. I remember I was in Northern California with my 280Z years ago. Suddenly she died on me. I called Mike out of desperation to see if there was anything I could do. I followed his instructions carefully and got her running in minutes. It seem like a miracle. That's just one of many examples I could share. Sunrise Z itself is a different kind of experience while you wait for your car to be fixed. It's the type of place where you can sit down in the garage and enjoy a movie, video games, or even light a cigarette and chat. The times I made myself at home Mike was always in the background working on my car. My visits always ended with a mutual thanks and handshake with him. I will always remember his smile and how happy of a customer I felt each time. The news of Mike hit me harder than I expected. He was a genuine man that played a vital role in one of my passions. I almost feel my 280Z will not be the same without his touch. I know that he taught Chris well and Art has always been great to work with too, but I think the guys would agree things will be different. So this is my little tribute to Mike of Sunrise Z. May you rest in peace old friend. The checkered flag has been waved as you completed the final lap. We'll all miss you very much, but we'll see you at the finish line someday. Andy

78 280Z Fuel Issue?
I'm driving down the highway when suddenly the Z starts to "sputter" infrequently. It gets worse and worse and more frequent. It felt like the fuel was getting cut off somehow (so it seemed). For a second every so often there was a significant loss of power. It got to a point where the car was no longer driveable so she was towed home. The car would turn over with a little bit more effort involved, but wouldn'r crawl no more than a couple feet before dying. I changed the fuel filter but that did not remedy the problem. A little side note here; I noticed that the radiator had to be replenished with fluid too. I had the head gasket replaced about 50K ago. Any ideas? I hope I provided enough details. Thanks!

Motorsport Auto's 2010 West Coast Nationals
I'm glad there will be some sort of event this year at Motorsport. However, I have a feeling it's going to be a cluster-****. Now I'm not suggesting it's not going to be fun......I can just see the turnout exceeding the confines of the lot and general vicinity. I say this learning that there will be no street closures??? This should be interesting. In terms of Motorsport's reasoning behind this years plans, I'll save those thoughts perhaps for another time. All I can say is if they really wanted this to happen the way we would all have liked, it could've been made possible elsewhere, another time, etc. I've been a supporter of their business and events for a long time. I will continue to do so. See ya guys there.

Motorsport Auto's 2010 West Coast Nationals
So, it looks like the big weekend will be for only one day this year (April 24th in front of the store)? I also heard that nothing was going at all. Does anyone have any solid info on what happened with the WCN for this year? Thanks!
