  2. Matt, there is no such thing as a -78 260Z in the US IIRC the doors won't fit, wings /fenders should and so should most mechanical parts. Have you Contacted PMAC? 17% VAT is nothing, compared to the 25% we have to pay here and that is after import tax of 10%, but remember that what you pay isn't always the same as the declared value on the CI. Matt, don't rush, it is the expensive way to restore a Z, from time to time PPL in the US parts out Zed's, they can also provide you with the sheet metal you need, take your time mate. Chris

I tink the build at some point looks fantastic, i just can't stop wonder if it actually will fit in the car, it looks like it will be to close to the inner fender and what about those SU's, doesen't look as they will sit straight up, more like a 15 degree angle. Was it ever installed in the car ? Chris

  5. Matt, then you should try to find Roadster parts. It all depends on what parts you are after, Alan (HS30-H) already pointed you to z-club, there is a vendor Mr-F and there is PMAC, those two will be your best freinds for now. This is by far a great forum, but what i don't understand, is why you don't visit your local club. Chris

    If you are going to add a resonator, i would advise you to put it in the back and have the glass pack in the middle. I have experimented with different lenght of pipe after the rear glass packs and the change in sound is huge, try and watch my you tube video, there i have a piece of 6 inch pipe and the sound is crisp, if i take them out it will become more hollow.     One step at a time, turn the crank to TDC, if the marks don't align turn it again until it does (this is a 4 stroke motor), when you have the marks aligned, piston at TDC, both valves closed at cyl 1 you'r there, you can pull the oil pump, the spill of oil is minimal, get a helper to look from above when you install, it makes things a lot easier.This is not rocket science, just do one step at a time. Timing.. Ignition..... Fuel........... Chris

    My advise to you is to download a FSM and start working on the timing from the beginning, step by step. Then check if you have fuel in your float bowls and if the fuel gets from the bowls to the nozzles, when it does, i'm sure you will get this thing to run. Chris

    Okay, so you have a spark and you confirmed the firing order ? You have gas to the carbs, try to lift a dome piston and see if there is gas at the top of the nozzles, if you pull the choke, there should be, if your float valves are clogged you won't get gas further than to the float bowls, is your spark plugs wet ? LP if you take off the 710 then you should be able to see if your cam get's oiled, try to take a piece of hose and use it to listen for the sound, see if you can get any closere to it, i'm in my summer house right now and you are welcome to look by and i will be home on Friday before leaving for Italy, so if you like to borrow some smog stuff, it have to be then. Let me know.
