  1. Just make sure you have the right bumper, some say that a -73 bumper won't fit the ealy brackets, still i hope they will, thous i like to try it out:classic:. The one on the photo might be up for sale, ask zsondabrain if he still have them;). Chris
  2. This is how they look, with curtesy of Dave Irwin Chris
  3. Okay, okay, i logged in and it works for me now. Chris
  4. If you want a 2.8, then get one and put it in, if you want to rebuild, get the pistons at first, i was told i got the last set of .020 over size pistons from ITM. The rest depends on your skills, personally i do it my self. Chris
  5. Sorry Arne, but i got no edit button !!.... Chris

Lars Peter, i have a spare combo swich as you know, you are welcome to test with that one, you probably remember my head light problem, it was a wire that was broken off at my combo swich, we just soldered it on and all is fine, maybe you should go trugh the soldering on the combo swich. This might be a job for Dave (Zsondabrain) Chris
  7. I would like to know that aswell. Chris
  8. Yes please post photos, i think many reading this is curious to see it. Chris

Carl thanks for the explanation, then it must be resonators i'm going to use, so a 1 7/8" will fit, i will have a look next time i got the car on a lift. The supply has a limit, i will have a freind bringing it back from Sweden next weekend, i will have a 38% saving because of the exchange rate, with only two resonators it will run up in ~$150 with pipe, bends, resonators, reducers and clamps, pretty cheap, it's going to be fun:D. I'm thinking of taking a bunch of photos and also a video clip of the before and after sound, is there any interest in a "how to build a twice pipe" topic, if so i will do it. Chris

Something to consider, i'm just worried that there will be to less restriction with dual two inch and that will take away my low end touqe. Resonator, muffler, glasspack ? i really don't know the difference, but really like to heve it explained, over here we have silencers, that's it. The setup i'm considering will be with two silencer in each string, in the transmission tunnel i wan't two 3 3/5 X 20 inch silencers and at the rear end i'm thinking about two ot the same or maybe a little bigger diameter, i could however wait with the rear ones, it's worth taking you up on your advice Roger. Just like to get a crisp sound and enough flow. Chris

The PO installed a home made exhaust system in my car, it's a 2.25 inch pipe with a Volvo muffler:ermm: and its loud with a not so crisp a sound:sick:. I like to duplicate the Clifford twin pipe system, but can't decide on the pipe size, i think a twin 1 3/4 inch system will be the best for flow, it have to connect to my headder witch is a 3 to 2 and ends in 2 inch, all input appreciated. Chris
  12. Hmmm. have you tried to disconnect all that crappy smog stuff. Chris
  13. Carguyinok i kind of 2nd that, on the other hand, try to be in my place, reading and writing in a nother native than my own, i try my best to make my writing read able, at the same time i have to guess what a native born american write, some people just can't spell and that's okay, but at least they must try to explain a little better or use a spell control and not use text message writing. Execpt of that, let the guy feel welcome here. Chris BTW. i recived the parcel, looking good, thanks
  14. I think it's our usual custom clerance delay, nothing to worry about, i hope. Chris
  15. Nope, the bolts havent shown up yet, luckely i was able to borrow a set. Don't you want me to pay for shipping ?, no need for you to carry that expence. Chris
  16. Your -72 motor will most likely have a E88 head, that's if it is stock, can't you just pull the cam from that head and swap it over to the other ?, what head is on your L28, are you sure you don't have a stock or bent valve on cyl one, causing the cam to be eaten. Try to soak the frozen pistons with ATF they might get loose, a Carl Beck advise. Glad to here you stay R6 Chris

and how many notches / groves do yo have in your pulley Chris
  18. ChrisZ replied to john mcgarvie's post in a topic in Engine & Drivetrain
If the notch is straight up you are at TDC, that should make it 5 degrees at 750 RPM, go figure. Chris
  19. ChrisZ replied to john mcgarvie's post in a topic in Engine & Drivetrain
John, take off the crankshaft pulley bolt, you don't have to take off the pulley, the key notch shall point straight up towards the head cover, now you have TDC, if the marks on the pulley don't match up with the marker then make your own TCD mark, remember to touqe the bolt 86 - 116 lb-ft. Now we have two interested in louvers and i had mine up for sale in a longer period of time while the car still was in the US, hmmm. I bet shipping would be to high to ship it back. Chris
  21. ChrisZ replied to mtndude's post in a topic in Open Discussions
I have a set where some metal brackets slides under the glass weatherstripping, the louver is made out of aluminum, they show up once in a while, just keep an eye open. Chris

It is one of those things that i have been hunting down and finally got one, loads of pics here. I was suppose to get one from member "jcote" but it never worked out, he might still have it. Chris
  23. This story got a happy ending, i was able to borrow the missing parts, got my Zed up running today and had the first ride in a car i purcased nearly two years ago:ermm:, it runs like crap and thats just a ignition timing problem i have to solve and i also have to get rid of all that US smog hardware mumbo jumbo crap, i just got a balance tube welded up and cleaned, ready to be installed:D Chris
  24. Definitely a treasure, thanks to a members pile of iron i got my Z out running, i was missing flywheel bolts and oil drain plug, probably junk to many but very hard parts to come by here and indeed needed. Take some photos, put it up in classifieds with a asking price and you will for sure help someone, maybe even me. Chris
