Sweet story: Guy reminisces over Z
Of course you can drive Kharma. You can drive Sylvia, too as long as it's straight into a river. Please jump out first

valve cover painting designs
that would be really hard to do though. I think a two tone profile view of the Z would be awesome. Maybe on the passenger side. Or if you could duplicate it, on both sides.

Does anyone have headlight covers on a silver Z?
I'm curious to know what they look like on a silver one. I've been thinking about getting them and would like to know what they look like. I haven't been able to find any pics. If some one have them and could post a pic, I would appreciate it very much.

I finally got a Z
After a very tiny bit of research (asking a friend) I discovered they are not 240Z bumpers, If you are judging by the avatar, my legs are hiding those huge rubber protectors. That bumper is something like five or six inches thick.

Z's in the movies
There was only about 8000 that made it out of the factory. Only a small percentage of them are left. But Houston DeLorean has TONS of parts. They'll refirb one for you for about 30K and build you a new one from origional parts for about 70K. What a waste of time that car is. If it were really a time machine, I'd go back in time to before we got it and talk us out of a huge mistake.

"Fairlady" What exactly does it mean?
Is it true that this is just what they wanted to call the 240-280's when they came to the U.S. or is the Fairlady a specific year and model. (Sorry for the dumb question, but I've been wondering.)

Nissan says: what's a 280z?
I've come to the conclusion that Nissan hires idiots. We need some of these real Nissan/Datsun people in there. I've given up on the dealers in NW Indiana. I'll find what I need online. I don't have time for them to decide what the hell "datsun" means.

Am I the only one whose named their Z?
They are females to you because you are subconsciously attracted to them. Maybe not sexually, but nevertheless, you don't want to be attracted to a guy. Why I, on the other hand, feel they are female... I'm not so sure.

Sweet story: Guy reminisces over Z
I was on my way to a car show last week and stopped to fill up with gas. I came back out to my car with an older guy walking around her. I greeted him and asked how he was. He immediately began to tell me his story. "Is this your car? Man, it's gorgeous. I remember when these first came out. I was 17 and I wanted one so bad. My neighbor had one and I went over there everyday to see it. I loved that car. I always wanted one but could never afford it." I could see the love and pain in his eyes. I said "be my guest if you want to sit in it." He answered, "Really?" He got inside and fell in love with it. I could have swore he was almost in tears. I could see all the years of memories come rushing back to him. All those hopes and dreams that had been lost as he'd grown up. "I bet these things are quick aren't they?" he asked. "Can you drive a stick?" I asked. He just looked at me speechless and nodded his head. "Start her up" I said and jumped in the passenger seat. The man was beside himself. We drove it around the block or so. I think there was something he wasn't telling me. Some fond memory that was almost bringing him to tears. When we got back to the gas station, he thanked me a thousand times and we said goodbye. I was late for the car show but it was so worth it. I had no idea these cars had such an impact on the people who owned them, let alone the ones who didn't. What an icon.

Maaan am I embarassed...
I'd race it with my DeLorean...and lose miserably in hopes of wrecking that damn thing. Ugh. I too lost my first race. Of course, I raced a 350Z. At least I lost to a worthly adversary. I don't feel really bad about it... I knew I was going to lose. And what is it with the Porche thing? I've owned two porches and neither of them looked like the Z. Of course, to those unknowing sport bike kids, anything with round headlights looks the same. Except Datsuns run. . My porches were lazy and didn't like to go anywhere.

Watch my Z video!!!
The reason I picked that song (regardless of what the song actually means) is because it makes me think of someone looking back on a time period in their life where there was nothing but pure happiness. That's how I want to look back at my Z when I'm eighty years old and the Z is a pile of rust chips on the garage floor. The grass was greener then. I was young and having the time of my life. And honestly, I don't think anything or anyone could make me happier than that damn car does.

Watch my Z video!!!
Just for the record (since there has been a lot of talk about it) my paint job suffered no injuries. It was a risk I tried to ignore but yes, it was eating at my heart, too. However, Kharma is still chip-less.

Nissan says: what's a 280z?
I called a nissan dealership recently looking for the factory wiring harness for the radio. They connected me to parts and the lady answered. I asked her about it and she said: "280z??? Nissan never made a 280Z. Do you mean 350Z maybe?" I said no, it's a Datsun. She said "Well you need to call Datsun then." i told her she was Datsun but she didn't believe me. She thought it was a joke. :stupid: Needless to say, I was quite frustrated.

10 Commandments of Driving
I thought I was the only one. I'm not vain or snobby about my car. I don't think I am better than anyone else because I have a car that I think is really cool. But (and this is something that has happened more than once) the other day I was at my AutoZone, working and minding my own business when some crazy woman came up and just opened the door and got in!!! Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't that seem just a little bit rude??? You don't just go up and get in somebody's car. I almost went out there and said something but I knew if I did, I would end up kicking some arse and getting arrested and probably even losing my job. So I watched. She sat in it, touched everything, and then got out. I was FUMING!!!! Needless to say, I lock my car now.

bored on a sat.
I'm interested... would you post some more pictures of that valve cover? Where did you come up with that graphic? What does the rest of your engine compartment look like? What does it look like with that valve cover on it??? I did my valve cover on my lunch break yesterday. . I work at a very boring auto parts store.
