Here is a copy of an early Z brochure that shows the battery as being a black case. As Carl noted the later production Z's had the more tranparent case. Nissan does have a black case battery that with the exception of it having Yusa logo on it, it has a strong resemblance of the original.
  2. A couple of additional ideas about the wires are, depending on how near correct your are striving for are: 1. You might check with either your local Nissan Dealer or one, like Courtesy Nissan in Dallas, as you may be able to still obtain and genuine set of black wires through Nissan. 2. Call Mike at Banzai Motorworks in Maryland as he has listed on his website black wires. Banzai is known for their Z restoration and some reproduction parts. Just a thought that might be helpful. Have fun with your Z!
  3. I finished a two month long project to refresh and detail the complete underside. I can finally take it off the jack stands and hit the street.

Mike B's assumptions are correct in that the cars are owned by Nissan and the Lane Museum stores and displays them for Nissan. There are about 35 vehicles in total. The Lane Museum does a great job in rotating the vehice displays around. The 350Z that was signed by the "band" was the Z used during the launch of the 350Z and the band is Sheryl Crow's band. She conducted numerous, random to mini concerts for the launch activities. The Lane museum has a very eclectic mix of vehicles and not your usual mix so if you are in Nashville make it a point to stop by.
