For Sale 73 240z
Straight - No Rust - clean title. I own 2 and was going to make this into a track car, i needed to get a new daily driver and picked up a used e46 M3 and do not really have the time to make this car all that it can be. The M3 will double as my track car. 1973 280 block with an e31 head, dual SU's. Steel braided brake lines, the car is a few weekends away from a track car, needs racing seats (has original) and some minor sorting on the suspension. Someone started a resto on the car they got about 1/2 sold it to a kid, then I got it. So the engine bay is spotless and completely redone. The car does have a 4 speed in it currently, but I will throw in a 5 speed for a little more. If interested we can talk about price I would like to see it go to a Z lover, and someone that wants a e31 head. The car is located in Newport Beach. philmaurer @ gmail.com

Hello World
There are the pics of Zmurf.... 1973, but I think those are earlier bumpers on her. Long term plans are Orange or flat dark grey with minilight rim. I love the slotted discs but I want the lighter rims. And the sunroof will be removed.

CTcurnes I just saw the pic on the top of this thread, and i thought that someone copied the pic from my girlfriends flickr page. I was at the show and had a nice convo with you. I was the guy in the video game industry and was looking for a 240z. I got the 240 now I just need to find a good z/datsun shop so I can have the brakes evaluated. I just do not trust myself to evaluate 33 year old brakes.... There are pics of the show at this link. http://flickr.com/photos/dz9err/sets/72157600346244803/

Standing at the edge of the Z pool...
BOO.. I got a 73, for just under that in socal. The 72 is considered more desirable as they are not hampered by the smog revisions on the 1973's and beyond. My mechanicals are in good shape but your body at least from the pics seems better then mine. I although have only one rust spot I could find, but it has gone through door ding hell. If you have not got the car yet check on the trunk sill on the left hand side those tend to rust.

Hello World
So i picked up the car and it is leaking oil from the oil pressure send unit other then that bay is clean. I adjusted the round top SU carbs forgot to check 3 or 4 bolt with no water pre-heat in the manifold, but has a winter/summer air filter unit... runs great with the headers that are on the car. The brakes on the otherhand are a little scary. I will be posting the pics, and will be trying to determine if a stroker upgrade was done on the engine. Unfortunately the history on the car is a little vague, except that it was built by a friends dad who loves Z's

Seat recomendations
I am in the process of building a Z for track days, then perhaps building it to a spec for a what ever seems to interest me the most and has the most available in socal for racing. I am 6'4 does anyone have seat recommendations?

Hello World
Well I figured I might as well stop trolling since I just purchased my 2nd 73 240z. The first one is an all original silver 240 from 1973 with 68k miles on it in pretty much pristine original condition and one family owned. I am a little loath to drive this one as wishfull thinking it might be worth money to fully restore it back to showroom quality. (I know it is a stretch for a 1973...) The new baby is a 7/73 240 that i will be picking up tommorrow. It has a l28 engine with e31 head, and I will be building it out for a weekend track car and maybe light autocrossing. The body is actually rust free with the exception of the passenger door panel has some surface rust that has not perfed the panel. The rear decklid and rear sill are clean and rust free as well as the fenders and battery tray.... I was really surprised on the battery tray. The car is currently smurf blue, but there is a color code tag in the block for 114 which I think is metallic bronze, but I cannot find any of that color on the car yet. The interior is trashed though and I will be yanking out the whole interior next weekend. On that note, anyone have recommendations on seats for someone that is 6'4? racing seats and full seat rebuilds seem to be about the same price, so I was thinking about racing seats considering the intended purpose of the car.
