  1. I flat towed my car to the track for 8 years with no problems to the tranny or rearend. A trailer just makes it easier so you do not have to change out tires once you get to the track. Tom
  2. A trip to the Skip Barber 3 day racing school at Road Atlanta. It was cold but it was fun.

The second video gives you a good shot at seeing how you did clipping the cones. Good teaching aide for you.
  4. Your offering price is what I paid for mine in the same condition as the one you are looking at.
  5. Very nice and the rear flare is perfect. I still think orange is my favorite color for a Z car. Tom

Great story. I bet we all wish we still had our first z cars. I know I do. 1972 240Z lost first year at U of Ky.
  7. New bushings are in order for sure. Unless you like the rock hard ride of a lowrider. Tom
  8. Nice looking Z car and have a great trip. I have family that lives in San Gallo(spelling) and Goldach. Switzerland is a beautiful country to drive around. Tom Born in Regensburg Germany now in Florida

Is it going to be carb'd or FI? Any idea on what cam you are going to use? We just tore down my block to check bearings before putting it in the car and trying to decide if my cam(460 lift and 270 duration) is going to be enough to really work my triple OER 47mm carbs. Tom
  10. Been there and done that. Except mine was the gland nut on the strut cartridge and I was on track. Oops... Tom
  11. When I had my 240 back in 1979 I remember Old Spice or Brut being the No 1 smell!!!! Tom

I agree with the above statements. I got his first 3 piece IMSA rear spoiler and was very happy with ti. Tom

Got your post just in time to see your race. Only to see Jesse Prather pass you about lap 9 or 10. Good race... Tom

I have pretty much the same setup except I did it piecemeal instead of from MSA. The pads will make a bit of difference. I run Porterfield race pads in my 260 track car and they usually last about 7-9 hot laps at Sebring, 17 turns sub 3min laps). Heat is an issue as I will be fabricating cooling ducts to the fronts. This is with the solid rotors, not the vented ones. Tom

That is exactly like my 72 I had in high school back in 1979. Had a lot of fun in it also. Tom

After almost 15 years in law enforcement I can tell you first hand that traffic fatalities know no age boundaries. It always seems that teen-aged deaths are more highlighted in the news and in peoples own minds. Just like life, death continues on its very own crusade. And after reading some post on this website and other Z related sites maturity and age definitely do not coincide. You can only hope that most people realize that after they do something stupid and come out of it unhurt that it is not worth the thrill that you get. Tom
  17. Randy, again I forgot to advise you of another thing to do. I drained the oil out of the carbs when I cleaned them and did not want to ship them with oil in them. Or like Bruce said, just use ATF. Sorry, they really should have been just hook up and turn on. I ran my car right before I took them off so that I knew my car was set before I put my new triples on. Tom If you need anything else for your car and I have it,I will send it to you free for all the hassle you are having with the carbs.
  18. Randy, you can pick up a small filter to put on the valve cover, the one on the far right goes to the engine block and if I remember the 2 on the left were just tapped places to screw a bracket on. Tom
  19. I am interested if anyone goes to this if they can report on how/if the track reconstruction is doing. Also if the plans to build condos around the track like a motorsport club is still going on. Miss doing track events there. Thanks, Tom

Randy, I forgot to tell you about the vacuum line. I just had it looped because I was not using vacuum advance on distributor. Yes, it always fun to get those lower nuts loose from the exhaust manifold. Hopefully it will start right up for you once you get them installed. I ran my car right before I took them off to make sure everything was set for my new triples. Tom

Suggested Speed Limits are those that are on the orange(yellow) signs when you are coming up to curves or other things that DOT thinks could cause potential trouble. The posted limit is still the white sign/black numbers which will be the maximum speed allowed for that section of roadway. You would issue a citation to that person for driving "too fast for conditions" not actually speeding. Unless you feel sorry for the person who just crashed his car and there was no damage to anyone else's property you can usually get by with not citing the person w/o your Sgt yelling at you. Tom

Sorry about the car and I hope it can be repaired. But since I am in the law business and hear similar stories almost daily. Suggested 35 and you took it at 60. I understand you do these runs all the time and the corner could be taken faster. But the speed limit is posted to suggest a safe speed to handle the corner in almost all traffic conditions. Rain, sun, loose gravel, oncoming traffic and a deer. Controlled conditions like a track is where you push your car. Public roads are where you take a nice cruise with other enthusiasts. Tom

Someone posted a picture of the same car but in red on a site somewhere. It is now my background image. I really like it and would not care if it only came with a 4 cylinder or electric/hybrid motor. It has what i look for in a 2 seater sports car. Long nose, nice stance and from what I can see a good looking rear end. Could go a little smaller on rim size with more sidewall on tires. Tom
  24. Paul, right now I am just doing events with NASA. My plan is to join my friend who runs Group 2/3 with HSR in his 260. I guess we all are a little Signal 20(that is crazy to those not on the job) but that makes life interesting. Tom
