Combo switch problem
So I rebuilt my combo switch to fix my headlights(turns out that wasnt the problem) and I was left with these two bushings when I was done. The lights work fine but the 'ACC' fuse, when installed, causes my lights to be on regardless of switch position. That fuse carries my wipers. I pulled the fuse so I can control my lights with my switch but, of course, I have no wipers now. Does anyone know where these bushings go and does this sound like a problem with the switch? The pen is there for size reference.

Valve seats kicking my butt
Timing is right. Triple checked it. after i put the head on and torqued it down, I rotated the engine a few times to make sure everything was ok. Thats when I noticed the valve. It acted exactly like my other head that dropped its seat. I still have my old E88 head. Anyone know what I should expect to pay to have the seats replaced? Are oversized seats hard to get ahold of?

Valve seats kicking my butt
The valve is stuck in the open position even with the rocker arm off. I tapped it with a hammer a few times but it wont return to the closed position. It probably isnt a bent valve because it looked fine when I put the head on and there were no abnormal mechanical noises.

Valve seats kicking my butt
So I did a head swap from an E88 to a N47 because my #3 intake valve seat fell out and the valve seated it for me cockeyed. Eeeeeeezzz gave me a used head to put on(Thank You!) and again, I have no compression on #1 piston. Took off valve cover and the intake valve is noticeable lower than the rest. I dont know for sure that the seat fell out on this one but is this a common problem on these cars? The valves were all seated properly when I installed the head. As you can imagine I'm fairly frustrated right now. (so is my back, )

Rough running engine
Pull the plugs, pull coil to dist wire, attach guage, then just use your key to turn engine over.

Lost a rocker arm...
Just got the head off. Turns out #3 intake valve seat fell out and valve wasnt seating, causing the rocker arm to fall off its...rocker. I hope the dealership carries these... Is this something I can do myself? I own a freezer... and I can use the old valve to drive the seat in. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks Mark! Let me know if I can ever return the favor!

Lost a rocker arm...
I've been working hard to get the z tuned and running well but couldnt seem to get any power out of it. compression test showed #3 cyl @ 0#. Sure enough, rocker fell off its perch and rocker guide(lash pad) is MIA. the valve spring/retainer is almost a centimeter lower than the rest of them which leades me to believe that I have a bent valve. I hammered on the valve and it wouldnt return to the fully 'up' position. Any recommendations on how I should go about fixing this? I would be willing to use someones used valve/retainer/lash pad/rocker arm if someone had an extra they would sell me. It just has to be in OK condition. I am finding it hard to find replacement parts around here. thanks.

timing mark?
You're right, Nissanman, I have both the 1:30 and the 10:30 pointers and (I think) an AC pulley. (lines up better with the 10:30 pointer) I dont have a dial back timing light and the 10:30 pulley only has a single point(0* i assume) the pulley has a few marks on it (4-5). Does anyone know how many degrees apart they are? Or the diameter of the pulley so I can make a temp timing tape. Thanks for the help!

timing mark?
I'll give that a try. I do agree something is 'up'.

timing mark?
Alright, that was a nice handful of info. My timing marks look to be at about the 8:00 position(on the pulley with the timing light) This side also has a single timing pointer in the general area. I dont have AC if thats useful. I think I should just set the engine at TDC #1 cyl compress stroke, and mark the pulley myself. any specific tips on performing this to the L24?

timing mark?
Hey, I tried to set my timing the other day and I couldn't find the timing mark. So I stopped the eng and found 5(I think) tick marks on the lower pulley. One was more prominent than the rest so I painted that one. then proceded to set the timing with the engine running and the mark was still not visable. I checked the other side of the pulley with the timing light and there it was. Almost 180* off. Is the pulley able to be set on this way? My timing tab is on the left hand side of engine and the mark was on the right side. Please help me get my timing set! thanks!
