  1. Thanks for the replies. My glass mirror is in good shape, I want to remove the assembly that holds the glass and gimbal(?) from the housing. It appears to be held in with 2 screws, but I can't figure a way to get them out without removing the glass. I suspect the backing plate for the mirror glass has holes through it to access the screws....
  2. I need to remove the glass from my '77 280z OEM door mounted side mirror without breaking it (hopefully). Does anyone have a good method to remove the glass from the OEM door mirror housing? It appears there is a backing plate the mirror glass is attached to, does anyone know how the glass is attached to the backing plate (glue, double stick tape, etc)? Is there access through the backing plate to the 2 screws that hold the mount for the backing plate into the housing? Does anyone know if there is a source for the replacement mirror glass cut to shape for the '77 280Z?
