Pics of my 75z
I drove it back from Charlotte under the power of a modified L28. Had turbo added to it but the turbo was shot and there was no intercooler. Just had the pipe routed from the turbo straight to the intake. Also the exhaust had the T3 flange welded on it and it wasn’t very pretty. After several seconds of consideration, I decided to dropped in an RB20DET. OK so maybe it was a full minute. Wanted power and fuel economy. Worked out great considering the latest fuel prices. I love these cars and probable will never get rid of mine. They just never look ugly.

electrical problems...need help
I know it's been awhile but did you find out what the problem was. My 75 had a similar problem and it was the black ground wire in the steering column. Found it looking at the insane wiring diagram. It is common to just about everything you described. It came loose and everything went dead.

'76 280 won't start
This is just a hunch. What about the oxygen sensor or temp sensor. When the engine first starts, the ECU should be adjusting the injector duty cycle to run rich. Once the engine is started, it could be that the ECU does not detect temp or oxygen sensor signals and continues to run rich flooding the engine. When you try to restart the car, did you pull the plugs and see if they were wet.

'76 280 Starting-Needs ECU
Chris, The part number for the ECU that I have is A11-000 000 Lot # 5510 I don't see any worning labels but that doesn't mean that one was not removed. You might be able to look this up and see if it will work for you. If you car is not fuel injected then you may not want to take that chance.

Do you have a L28 fuel injected motor. I just did a swap and have one left over from the swap. It was for a fuel injected L28. What is your neck of the woods.

Assuming you have spark Any fuel coming from the fuel injectors. I assume it's the Fuel injected L28. If no fuel at the injectors then is there any voltage at the injector. Should be 12v on both sides. Dropping resistors should pull the voltage down on one side of the injector allowing for current to flow assuming the ECCU is powered up and working properly. I found that I had a poor connection to my ECCU and it caused similar problems where the car would start and then not start. I had ignition . I believe the dropping resistors are controled by the ECCU. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Need defrost lamp for 75 280z
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement defrost lamp and wire harness. My lamp is broken. Don't know if I did that putting in a new engine or if it was that way when I got the car several months ago. None of the searches in the local junk yards come up with anything. This is what it looks like Thanks
