Bumper Guards?
Is there a difference between the Left and Right bumper guards on 240z bumpers? Also is there a difference between 70-72 and 73 bumper guards?

Differences between 240 and 260 bumper.
Keep us posted. I would definately like to try this as well on my Z if it works out for you.

What Type of Mirror is This?
I almost bought some on e-bay a while back, but decided to wait since they were available at MSA! DOH!!! Hopefully they work things out and get more. I see several on ebay that say they are for the 64-66 Mustangs. I wonder if these are the same and have the same bolt pattern. Wouldn't want to drill more holes in my door.

Differences between 240 and 260 bumper.
From looking at the picture on BlackDragon's website it looks like the 240Z bumper hugs the fender a little more than the 260Z bumper.

What Type of Mirror is This?
I called MSA today and they currently don't know if they are going to continue to carry these mirrors. They are waiting to hear from their supplier. They took them off their website for the time being. They told me to check back in a week or so.

What Type of Mirror is This?
So there is noway to get a Right side mirror just like this one? I have a 75 280z that has this particular mirror on the Left side and would like a matching mirror for the passenger side. The PO had put a mirror on the right side and drilled holes in the door ! But he sold it to me without a mirror. So I either have to find a match for the right side, by a different set, or patch the wholes. May get some of the classic round chrome mirrors from MSA if they don't make the RH mirror.

hood vents
I don't have an EGR valve. I think hood vents would fix my problem. (Just trying to get the thread back on track) haha! I definately need to go see Awesome Z. Nice to know their are a couple places in town to turn to for help.

hood vents
I had a feeling you were going to say that! haha. I guess i'll have to go check out this other shop.

hood vents
The guy I went to is in Cypress. I think his shop's name is Reliable Dependable Auto something or other. He also goes by ZWorld. He has a website. Its Znzx.com Which shops are you talking about?

hood vents
I drove the Z for a while today and stopped at the post office for about 10 minutes and decided to try the ignition on and off to see if that would help with the stuttering problem and it didn't seem to help at all. I'm still thinking i'm getting "Vapor Lock" on my EFI system. But what the hell do I know!!

hood vents
I wouldn't doubt it. But this guy was pretty cool and definately Z knowledgable. Hell he had about 30 Z's from 70-90s at his shop. He seemed like the kinda guy that was pretty much a come to me when you get desperate and not just after more work. I was just stopping by for parts. I had to get out of there before I went broke!!

hood vents
It starts fine when cold and starts fine if its warm and sits for longer than say 30 mins. Also if I just turn it off and back on when warm it starts fine. I've tried the on and off ignition before and it didn't seem to help. But I will try it again next time I think i'm going to have startup issues.

hood vents
I think part of my problem is my car doesn't have a heat sheild between the Exhaust and the Intake. Could be getting hot enough to boil the fuel in the fuel rail?

hood vents
I have what seems like to be a vapor lock issue with my 75 280z. I'm not sure what it is exactly. But i've read many thoughts on this issue and being a newb at S30 i'm pretty confused. If I drive for 30 mins or more and then stop my car and let it sit for 10-15 minutes it will sputter real bad for a little while. I've read about Vapor Lock, Cold Start Valve, Thermotime switch... I've asked a mechanic that works on a lot of Z's and says that its Vapor Lock and hood vents would help.

Water Temperature Switch Wiring
What exactly does this switch do. I have it in my 75 Z, which is not a California model but i think my motor is out of a 77-78 Z. I don't have an EGR valve and I have a Water Temperature Switch that has the ground wire broken. What does this affect?

AFM to Throttle Body boot!
Mine doesn't have that plug in it. So should I order a 75 boot or a 78 boot? I've seen some on ebay and some look shorter than mine. And The Z store doesn't have pictures.

AFM to Throttle Body boot!
Another question...Whats the difference in the 75-77 and 77-78 AFM boot?? I have a 75 280z, but I'm pretty sure its a 77 or 78 engine.

AFM to Throttle Body boot!
I noticed that the boot between my AFM and throttle body didn't have a clamp on it and seemed to be wrapped in electrical tape. So me being curious decided that i would inspect it and use this as an opportunity to clean my AFM and throttle body a bit. Well the electrical tape was what was holding the boot together!!! I was like WTF!!! It was broken in half and put back together with electrical tape!!! Well since i didn't have a spare boot I just put it back together with more tape until I get a new one. But now i'm having some issues. 1. First time I started it up it was revving really high and would raise RPM when I would put the clutch in and would stay at 3000 RPM. I'm guessing it was the throttle linkage getting stuck and not returning all the way because that seems to have gone away. 2. After the Idle problem dissappeared I reved the engine a couple times and it died. Turned it back on and reved it again pretty hard and it died again. If I just turn it on and just drive normal it will run fine. But if I punch it or rev it a couple times it will die. I'm thinking that I didn't do as good a job as the PO in taping the AFM boot. Would a leak cause the car to shut off under load? I've read that it definatel will cause strange problems. Also where would be a good place to get a replacement?

no headlights on 1975 280Z
They are the top two. here is a pic of the fuse box. I would replace them even if they look good. I had some that looked good but were bad. Plus some worked until i touched them!

Have you checked the fuses?

1975 Fuse Box Cover
Thanks for all the help. I went ahead and changed out most of the fuses. Seemed like as soon as I touched them they stopped working! Seems like the PO did not like to use the recommended fuses. Everything was working so it didn't seem to hurt anything.

1975 Fuse Box Cover
Thanks!!! That makes a lot more sense when looking at my fuse panel. I definately need to get a Haynes Manual.

1975 Fuse Box Cover
Thanks, are all the 280z Fuse Boxes the same no matter the year?

1975 Fuse Box Cover
Can somebody post a picture of their 1975 Fuse Box Cover. Mine didn't come with one and yesterday I was looking at some of the fuses and they look pretty old and brittle. I would like to swap them out but I don't know what is what down there.

My New Cold Air Intake
Not bad for a blackberry camera phone. Did you ever think about straping the intake down below where the stock airbox sits?
