Wow, so much to consider. I can't decide if I want to keep the more original look or go with a larger wheel and low profile. I am going to spend quite a bit of money I am finding, so I really want to make sure I like the look. I have not modified the fenders on my car at all.

Wow, thanks for all the replies. To clear things up a bit, the wheels are 6in. wide. The original owner had them on the car before I bought it. I am going to find prices and decide what to do. I am not too concerned about the difficult steering on low speeds. I drove a 70 camaro for years with no power steering. The Z seems easy after that. I'll let you all know what I decide and post pics when complete. Thanks again for all the advice, I will definitely take copies to the tire shop.

I am new to the z club... I am trying to learn as much as possible about my Z I want to buy new tires for my Z but am confused about size. I have 14 in old school slotted mags that came with the car (but are not on the car). I want a sporty look and wider than the 75s I have currently with the original wheels and hubcaps. I have heard that 60 series make the car soft... Any suggestions on the perfect tire size? Thanks

Hi there, I just joined the forum and I am excited to learn about other's Z adventures. I have a 74 260Z that I bought 2 years ago from the original owner! My dream car as a kid. It is in really good shape. The body had some dings and dents, but NO rust. The interior -- a small tear in the drivers seat and one crack on dash. It came with an 8 track stereo which I changed out to CD. It is basically stock but I have had dents repaired, painted it and added a rear spoiler. The original engine has 77000 miles. We changed the carbs to early round top SUs from 240Z. Added headers. I do have some problems with these but not as much as the original carbs. I have had some problems with the adjustment and keeping them in sync. Right now I am looking at dash crack solutions, wanting to complete the exhaust, and get tires for the old school slotted mags that I bought with the car. I am always looking for suggestions to make it better (and faster!) I have learned a lot from reading all the threads. I need to learn more, and need to learn how to work on my car myself! My dad was an old Datsun mechanic, but recently passed away. Boy do I wish I would have paid closer attention when he tried to teach me about cars.
