  1. Is there such a thing as a High performance Ignition module for the L28?
  2. The Jatco trans was used in a number of cars and small trucks, so that might give you an idea of how it holds up. The Jatco trans had a couple four speeds- one with a hydraulic lockup converter, and one with electric. Will is working on how to hook one up to the L28 engine in the S30 car. Mostly you need a modified trans mount and custom drive shaft.
  3. I can't think of anything to do with my GREEN car. I thought of a frog, but the car doesn't have the lines for that.
  4. Some clubs or car cruise-ins are having a dress-up-your-car night for Halloween. Post a pic if you did yours up!
  5. I'd suggest only a few good photos. Like a couple of the outside and a couple of the inside (if you can get a wide angle view of the inside with good lighting). Maybe one at speed doing something special (autoX or rally) Some people take a dozen pics at the same angle or bodypart and try to pass them off as different. How many photos do you really need??? Not just one of the front quarter up close then farther away, then real far away. Take a look at some car mags and see what those photographers are doing. They go for different angles and body parts.
  6. Don't you have any mates in the States? A set in the U.S costs about $300 new.
  7. What kind of little doo-dads do you have or would you put on the engine, or in the engine bay to make it a little nicer (period-looking or cool, but not cheap or ricey) or more functional? my wish list: spark plug wire number-collars chrome dipstick & dipstick tube? braided plyester (plastic?) hose covers thx
  8. Sounds like the thre ignition module is getting weak, or something is messing with the signal. I didn't think the Ignotion Module would wear out?
  9. I want to get this thing cleared up. The RIGHT way to do it is to use aluminum tube, and FIND a "muffler place" that has a good mandrel bender. Not just any "muffler place" like so many have said before.Thew only question not discussed is the shape of the tube. An elbow is right for the end that ggoes through the radiator support, but should it go straight along the top of the rad suport, or bend down to get the fresh air coming through the grille? thx
  10. I finally got a chance to get a piece of pipe from a "muffler shop"! You wouldn't believe what I had to go through. The first one told me they don't bend 'tubing for intakes.' The second place said they don't have a bender that big, and the third place wanted to see the original intake tubes! ( thought I had a honda?) I got a piece of 3 inch steel exhaust pipe bent with a 90 degree on one end. The 2 1/2 foot pipe alone weighs about 6 1/2 Lbs. It looks like thick-walled steel, so it's eavy. Is there a better kind of pipe? Like a thin-walled ( and polished) stainless? The other problem with the pipe I got was that when it was bent ( by the only place in town), the bent section had a smaller diameter and the 'bend marks' or shrinkage marks/distorions. So I would NOT recommend going to just any muffler shop to get a pipe for an intake, unless they are more friendly & knowledgeable, and can actually bend a tube without the distortions. I'll go take a look over at Jegs- need some polished fuel line too.
  11. WARNING: Smoking in the cars is not permitted, but smoking the competition is!
  12. Why did you have to post a picture with a Porche leading a Datsun... :devious:
  13. the only thing nonody could get right is a way to reseal the motor in a bag.
  14. The body guy just said he'll grind away the bottom flange of the frame rail where the contact was, so it doesn't rub.
  15. Gary- doesn't your boat have a vent for the fuel tank? that's where the moisture gets in. The Z tank is a sealed system.
  16. So what's the gas cap for? the e-check people check your fuel system for pressure, meaning air can't get in or out, so whatever little moisture that's in there when store the car will be in there next spring. Just add whatever last gas you want on a less humid day- IF you believe that stuff. Or drop a bag of dessicant in there or some gas drier before storing.
  17. the point was to have gas in the tank so when the car gets back on the road, you don't have to worry about checking the wallet for cash and stopping at a gas station. Instead you can just motor along.
  18. At least for now, but I think there are others.
  19. Several question came up but no help on any searches: For competition, would you want the load rating to be for pairs of tires (one side) ort for all four? the reason is that when the car rolls, more, or almost all, the weight is on one pair of tires, so you'll want a tires' load rating to be about 1/2 the car weight? Abobody got a chart to show the ratio/coefficient, or just go by sine(X)? thxu
  20. I think the idea to FILL the tank before storing is a good one- who wants to stop at a gas station (boring) after rescuing the car? Just get in and GO!! (sort of) On the other hand, make sure you're not leaking fuel. Mine was dripping for an hour while I baught & changed the fuel filter. It was mostly empty to begin with, and I almost ran dry getting to the nearest gas station.
  21. Geat link. And those tires are way preferential. I think I'll get a set of those over the winter.
  22. And it's not just for people in the USA, either! Even our mates in AUS get to put their pin on there. Isn't AUS just USA, but all mixed up? :cheeky:
  23. Yeah, mine are the 14" ZX spoke wheels. I was at the Tire Kingdom, and they don't seem to have much in 60-series for 14" wheels. The onews they had (Sigmas) looked more like an off-road tread. My preference is 205/60SR14s, but I might have to go back to 195s on the front wheel so it doesn't rub the left rail when you turn the wheel all the way right (or left). If I get another set of wheels, I think I'll get some 15 inchers.
  24. Don't you just hate that? I mean, like a guy sits in front a computer with a black, blank screen, types a name, and the screen fille up with "data" (person's criminal history)
