  1. The price went up since I got mine. Grant Steering Wheel Security System
  2. I have the Grant system on mine & it works great. About 1/2 the price. I don't really like the phrase "quick-release" when related to your steering wheel, tho.
  3. They are usually seen in videos of outdoor scenes, viewed in slo-mo. I don't remember if they were ever seen indoors but I think -that- would be even scarier. got Aloha?
  4. the thing I think that is scary is when they show you those "invisible flying sticks" that are captured on video and film.
  5. Vicky- How about a laser-etched 'Z' logo? I attached a couple suggestions I found on the internet, but a better, fine-lined logo would be in order to go with the detail a laser can do. Maybe some of the graphics Aficionados here can come up with something like the old ink engravings.(Black line-art).
  6. I'll see if I can find a picture. cheers
  7. Welcome and congratulations on your purchase. When I was younger, in the 70s & 80s, I liked the Z a LOT too, but they seemed to be too expensive and people who had then would never let ME drive it! So a few years ago, Istarted looking for one again, and a frien in Tampa, FL, told me there was a used Z-car dealer down the road from him! Fletcher Ave., of I-275 in Tampa. So I looked and he even had a website! Z-Docs Website So i looked up a good car and worked out a deal. fortunately for me, he was coming up near Cleveland, OH, so he trailered the car up and delivered. Otherwise, I was going to Tampa to drive it up myself. Good thing I didn't, because the hose on the fuel rail split a 2 minutes after I started driving home from the delivery spot. It took 2 GALLONS to drive the 2 1/2 miles back to the house- gasoline dripping the whole way up the driveway! At first, my 280Z felt like a beast. The hood was about 300 feet long and it weighed 1200 tons. But after a while, you get used to it enough that you feel you can showboat. Just don't. Maybe we can get Z-Docs to sponsor this place. thx
  8. I have ZX wheels on my car and I would like to know if there are any alternative center caps to use instead of the big Z caps. They stick out some and don't look so nice, so I'd prefer something that was flat, like a plate. Should I get those custom made? I think they would just screw in place of the old ones. Get some pics of my idea soon. thx

Yeah, My 280Z definitely weighs more than 1900 lbs., even with all the sheetmetal, the seats, carpet, everything loose or not in the drivetrain- removed. I would say the same thing about a 240Z. Plus, I had to look carefully because at first those panels looked likethey were made of canvas!? thx
  11. You would probably want one rated 10ABC or bigger.

My race bike cost me $100 a pound. Good thing it only weighs 21 pounds...
  13. Keep that in mind whever you think you need a repair. Except for common things like brake pads & shocks, oil/air filters, etc., you'll need to get the parts in advance, or put off a repair (leave car in shop) until parts arrive, or repair things yourself. Even brake pads & shocks, filters, etc. can be hard to find, so you'll want to stock up on consumables in advance.

You sure it's diChromate? I thought that stuff was a green color. The heat shields on my 280Z are all just plain aluminum. the rust spots around the bolt holes are from the bolt heads rusting. thx

You see it every December on TV: thew MOST -whatever- for the past year. I was just wondering if there is away to go through the topics in the forums to see which one(s) were: most popular (most replies) in 2004 most viewed in 2004 most visited/replies EVER (hopefully not BOOBS...) And maybe some tother stuff. Suggestions? thx
  16. Do you ALWAYS get the vibration, or just sometimes? I feel a vibration occasionally on the highway with my newer car, but I assume it's from wavy pavement. Sometimes. Occasionally a little 'hop' after the car sits for a few days.

    I heard that, Carl...
  18. Don't you have to remove the plastic finisher panel on that quarter to install the bracket?

Oh- then I would suggest you get a big washer to reinforce the area around the hole. That washer should be thick enough to put some threads into. then solder it onto the tank. Is GOOP gasoline-proof? My favorite fixer-upper. It's a 4-letter word, too thx

The only things I can think of is to buy some barbed water fittings from the HW store and screw into threaded holes & block off the old ones, or use J.B. Weld to tighten & repair the area.
  21. I think I forgot what the diesel intake was for? thx

On tyhe 280Z, I've heard of people collapsing the bumper shocks by drilling a hole to let the gas out. The bumpers will then be closer in for a neater look like on the 240Z, but then you lose the protection the bumpers offer.

There's a Cadillac in the driveway and a Jaguar in the garage. He doesn't really need to make much profit on the 240Z...
  24. You race snowmobiles, Chris?
  25. Cool Song. thx
