  1. First you said you had both signaturees, and then you posted two attachments, so I figured those were them. The perspectives made them look different. the sun visor one was better, but it won't be easy to isolate it.
  2. Sorry, bud. Open containers aren't allowed in cars. Drinking and driving isn't allowed, either.
  3. Which is Mr. K., and which is Mr. Matsuo?
  4. Yeah, I think I might like to try itto see if it would work.
  5. Do you have those available in plastic relief, gold plated for the dash? I don't really care for the "Datsun" or even "Paninfarina".
  6. Right now, I have a quarter from 1978 my mom found the day I picked up my car. I GOOPed it to the dash and had good luck since. I bet there's somebody with a little Jesus figure or other thing. But get serious.... I like the "Mr. K's signature" thing. You vcould easily make a casting, if you had Mr. K's signature. Gold plate it even! Vinyl even for the fender or rear window! Anybody got a pic of Mr. K's signature?
  7. How about a bobblehead bambikiller shifter knob?
  8. If you could put one item on the dash as a decoration, what would it be? I think I would get either a golden bobblehead tiger, or a Taco Bell bobblehead dog.
  9. You might even sand the axle with long screatches/grooves to help the clamp grab better. I've taken one totally apart for recovering. I had to change the shape to fit the replacement rear-view mirror off the Eclipse I got my seats from. Has anybody recovered their sun visor(s)? Mine are plenty saggy, and I was thinking about using (suede) leather. I'm not sure if ( a very dark brown) suede would be period-correct? You can get leather (suede?) cheap at the Salvation Army store by getting a leather coat/jecket and cutting that up. Much cheaper than regular sources! thx
  10. I'm inclined to think about how deep any rust has gotten into the rod to determine how susceptable it will be to breaking.
  11. How important would it be to get some extra T/C rods? I mean, if I spot some on eBay, should I snap them up? Also, do you think it would help to put a doubler tube over the outside of the rod, to give it some strength? thx
  12. You could just takethe evap. tank out, but thewn you would have to be carefulhow full you fill the tank, especially in the summer, or the gas will expand & overflow- which is what the tank is for. Bill-- You should try this web site: http://wordweb.info/
  13. I cured my car of gas smell by leaving the windows & hatch open, and driving around lots.
  14. I'd be careful about saying that, because the 350 has already been called a "classic"! By TV shows like Motorweek and Sports Car Revolution to name two. I think they are premature just because of how fast (too soon) they said this.
  15. I would agree that this subject has been discussed enough so we all know how different people feel about it from the different viewpoints, to let it come to a close...
  16. In that way, the 350Z seems to really excel! I have respect for it, as Nissan actually did get some people to think it's a "sports car" and buy one, but I think you could have done betterfor yourself. I think the newer Mustang is a little too padded. That's why we have a 65 Mustang. But I don't consider that a "sports car" either- just a classic car. Regrettably, with the new hybrid- powered cars coming out, the "real sports car" will vanish with the availability of gasoline, unless somebody finds an acceptable replacement for gasoline. Going 6,000 miles on a fillup is a good idea, but that isn't why we buy sports cars, is iit?
  17. So threefittyzee thinks WE are biased? Well, first of all, I don't have a 2420Z. I have the 280Z *with automatic), and I think that car has more "sports car feel" than the 350Z. When I drove the 350Z, I got no more excitement than my Ford Escort gives me. The Escort was 1/2 the price, has less junk on it to distract you ( only radio & power windows) and it even has more room and NO cupholders! I don't need to use phrases like "C'MON!" to explain that the car DOESN'T TURN ME ON, and there could be a million web sites related to the car. THE 350Z DOESN'T TURN ME ON!!! That's all there is to it. I get more intense feelings riding my 14-speed Puch road bike at 35 mph down a twisty road than I got from the 350Z on the SAME road. It's just a plastic-plated, over-padded, rubber-dampened marketing machine. I would rather buy a Ford Focus.
  18. I've seen most of the new cars today, from Lincoln LS to Ford Focus to the 250Z. Drove just about all. I don't count any of them as a sports car, because they are all designed to be PASSENGER CARS. That is why I don't care for the 350Z. It's built to make you feel comfortable with stereo, climate controls and cup holders. Besides the fact that I don't think Nissan knows how to make a sports car any more, I just don't like the looks of the 250Z, period. All they tried to do was to out-do Honda & toyota with a super-rice car and I'm surprised it doesn't have a big wing, lots of stupid lights and a 42-inch video screen (on convertibles) so the people behind you can see themselves! the thing looks like a big blob and I've seen better cars drawn by little kids. They probably got the idea from the Boss' kid. If you want to see real sports cars, go to Sebring, or LeMans, or places like that. Not Corvette either; It's not a sports car. IMO of course.
  19. Exactly. That's what you get from a mass-produced car built from drawings a 7 year-old kid draws! There are NO lines, NO individuality. NO "gritting-your-teeth" feeling like you get from the East African Safari. You'd have to spend abouut $80,000 MORE to get a car that gives you the feeling that YOU are really the one in control. What you would get for that money is a scratch-built sports car or a vintage racer. Sound familiar??
  20. I think he meant to say "down hill again."
  21. I agree that the 350Z is a waste at best. If they really wanted to make it a sports car they should: 1. Tear out most of the sound system. Sports cars don't need more than 2 spreakers. 2. slim down the engine-- no a/c, cruise, power steering. Just the basic heater with defog. Fancy aluminum covers aren't needed, but the aluminum does save weight. 3. No convertable. Make it simple car to maintain ( and much safer) with a permanent, hard roof. If it carries a Zed name (from years ago) it should have more in common with the body design (except the bumpers!) You get the jist of my opinion. Just a simple sports car with strong engine, nothing to distract your attention, good handling and not too hard to keep looking good. If they had done all that, with the improved wiring & metals they have now, it would have been just as much a favorite as the 1st gen Zeds are now. Even 25 years from NOW. Those same things explain why the older muscle cars are so valuable today. But I guess they would rather listen to the marketing people about how to build a "sports car."
  22. My brakes are mushy on the first pump, then firm on the second. Is that what yoour was like? Otherwise, I probably have a leaky M.C. thx
