We started out trying to get some songs together to accompany the excitement and joy one gets while driving ones Zed. Whether your hair is on fire or not. Until now, all the suggestions have had much energy and excitement. While you can't just omit a band in general, you have to admit that just about every one has songs the are better and worse fits to out goal. Take Styx as an examnple. "Blue Collar Man" would fit out goal, while "Babe" ouldn't. (Referring to the 'road-racing' theme). It might be better to fit the latter song into a 'cool-down' list.'

good songs, but for some reason, I just couldn't see myself listening to those while going 90 MPH down the highway... singing Songs like: "Hold the Line. ..I wasn't breaking in time"

I would use Toto or Carpenters if you wanted to get somewhere with a chick/girl/lady. Or maybe if you were depressed and wanted to depress yourself enough to drive off a cliff. Journey and Asia have a few snappy songs that girls like and guys will tolerate.

the most important thing that matters to me is that it has a snappy, driving beat, cool melody and some good lyrical lyrics. That means no rap or Hip-hop where the music revolves around some boring thump junk. You wouldn't want to fall asleep, and get in a collision! Oh- no hate songs or negative stuff like that.
  6. I tried to delete a post today, and I got that "you don't have permission..." message. Holy turd, Batman.

Don't forget some ZZ-Top then: Sharp Dressed Man (maybe?) Gimme All your Lovin' Legs Sleeping Bag Strangers Can't Stop Rockin' Velcro Fly Delirius Tush LaGrange Beer Drinker & Hellraisers Will I get in trouble if I suggest Asia and Journey?...
  9. What is that guy's idea of "perfect?" Clean, or actually like a set of new wires? You might get lucky and those things are from a car that was junked after a month, and the wires all managed to survive this long. If it's from a 71 240Z, then I doubt it will work on a 260 or 280, like the guys says.
  10. Have you noticed any change in the wiring insulation after treating with the vinegar? You wouldn't want the vinegar to make the insulation MORE brittle. BTW, you can get concentrated (really STRONG) vingar at a photo supplies store- it's used in B&W photography. I think it's called "Stop Bath." Basically, it's Glacial Acetic Acid. ** Extremely corrosive- -- Handle with caution! *** You probably want to dilute it with water, and then try it on some regular wire, or some spare Z wires to see what happens. I'd still like to see what CLR will do...
  11. I first thought you could drill straight through the holder to insert an LED, or you could insulate the legs and stick those through. It shouldn't be difficult, and you could even use the original wiring or just add one new wire for the whole string (in series). Series wiring for LEDs is different than parallel, tho. If you measured the voltage going to the lamps, you could buy LEDs for that voltage. Have you considered trying to repair the wiring you have? Usually, the problem is that the connector(s) are ccorroded and the resistance drops the voltage. High on my 2-DO list for spring, after I get my car back. If somebody came up with a special chemical or process to reverse the corrosion, he'd be a MILLIONAIRE!! Hopefully ME.

Remember... You only get about 80 minutes of music on a CD, so you need to keep in mind if your songs are long or short. Are you going for some kind of theme, or just songs you like, or what? Random songs would be difficult to arrange in a way to keep the "feeling" going. You wouldn't want to get a shock when switching songs. Otherwise you end up with a boring documentary.
  13. there seems to be a consensus that the early Zs need to have the rack in front of the crossmember- no room for mounting behind. Otherwise, all you'd need is to make up some steering arms that are backward, and then you 'could' use a ZX rack. The later Mustang rack seems to be the best thing so far. Mustang II might even work. Nobody tried that yet. Unless there's something else, like from aHondu or something front wheel drive. I've been considering my Escort's rack, but can't find it!

I usually put together a CD for the summer. then copy to cassette. Is there any mps saharing things that don't want $2 per song?? Free even?
  15. The ZXs used recirculating ball rack, and I think the newer one have rack & pinion. Check the Hybridz site for that info.
  16. Dude, you need to get a wiring diagram.
  17. The important things to remember is to match the spacing of the mounting brackets. Then you got the steering rack in front of the crossmember . if you can do that, you just gotta connect the steering column (hopefully it's a straight shot and the engine mounts aren't in the way.) Then just mount a pump & drive belt and plumbing. You might check the Hybridz site on this one. There are a few alternatives to nissan parts already, and new ones come up occasionally.
  18. There aren't supposed to be any fusible links inside the car anywhere. Just fuses in the fuse panel.
  19. The point was that people are speeding which uses fuel inefficiently, and getting big, gas-guzzling engines, all of which costs big $$, so they should be fined. They can obviously afford all the extra $$! The money could go for research... What do black boxes have to do with having to convert your Zed to hydrogen fuel power? We got a little off-topic.
  20. My vote for worst would be either Mad Max movie. I can't believe that any of those vehicles would actually be able to exist.
  21. the reason I said the speed recorders was because SOME people really need help to be better drivers. They have no sense to slow down, drive safely & conserve their fuel, and don't care how much they will pay for gas. The same people complain when they get caught speeding, lose their license, and pay fines, but then go back to the street and do the SAME THING! The black boxes could be used both ways. You could use it to prove you weren't speeding, or not as much as the police radar said.
  22. Not tomention all those people who insist on driving 90 MPH , a car that is efficient and 'cleaner' at a lesser speed. I think there is a significan't humber of people doing this- more than people driving the 'dirtier' older cars, like a Zed. Not that a properly-tuned Zed creates a lot of pollution. Future cars should ve equipped with speed monitors that officials can check at emmisions time. Then you get assessed a fine for being stupid and speeding.
  23. Wait until it gets really hot. See how it runs then. That's what the vapor tank is for.
  24. I just talked to my lovely gf on the phone and she changed her oil & battery today. NYAH, NYAH... :classic:
  25. You could get your gf involved! How many girls can change a tire, let alone a transmission! She might even have sakills you could employ in refurbishing the interior (like upholstering/sewing) Or just teach her how to wax.:devious:
