    Rally Racing Info

Can you give a rundown of the basic classes of roadroacing too? Autocross? What else is there you might do in a Z Also, what does stuff like 'group 2' or 'group C' mean? I think they are classes in rally and road racing, respectively. thx
  2. That grommet is supposed to be the hardest part to find for the electrical system- short a new wires Must be made of unobtainium-rubber-coplymer.
  3. I guess I'll just go with a Cavallino instead of a Z logo.
  4. That's why I suggested using some silicone glue to (glue) the plate in place. Then you only need two hands to do the rest. Comes from experience.
  5. Will- That sounds really appealing. You might even screw six carb horn to each side? I'm really iterested in your idea. thx
  6. I think I would like to replace my fuel rail instead of spending much time cleaning & polishing because I think the sanding might weaken the tubing. Does anybody know of any manufacturers? Something with fins and shiny/chrome? I saw the JSK one, and it would work, but it looks like a huge thing. thx
  7. Oh shut up. At least I used the search and found something related.
  8. I believe that if you remove the cold-start injector, you can also remove the thermotime switch, and the last part of the wiring that goes to the thermotime switch, because it is just an extension and plugs in via a pair of bullet connectors near the #2 injector. I don't know if you want to cut off the bullet connectors, but it might be good to just tape them off, in case you want to reinstall the coldstart stuff. Later, if you want to remove the cold-start stuff permanently, I'd follow the thermotime/coldstart injector wires as far back to the ECU as possible and cut them there. Where'd you get a custom fuel rail? I'm having trouble finding sources. thx
  9. Yeah, from what you see on those 'real-life' TV shows, you can see that kids can get their hands in the darndest of places! OL
  10. Jason- You might look at what the aftermarket companies are doing for heat & a/c. It's the big thing for hotrods because it's all custom- not factory. Check those out first to get ideas.
  11. Can you help us out with an email address or a link to the magazines website? thx
  12. Next time use a dab of silicone to stick the (backing plate?) to the door before putting the nuts through. The only thing I can suggest to retrieve your part is a stick with a magnet on it or one of those long things with the little fingers that grab.
  13. Good. Make sure you get everybody involved with this kind of thing to vote.
  14. So it would be an easy thing to divide the number of votes for the one category by the number of voters. Which means about 50% of the voters were planning or did upgrades to wheel & tires.
  15. That gave me an interesting idea... Why not give the 350Z a makeover to give it the flavour of an S30? I mean take OUT the power windows, rear seat, door panels & cupholders, extra gauges, THE RADIO. What else? Do you think you ocould disable the ABS, traction control, etc? thx
  16. No, no, no........ The poll is supposed to allow you to pick ALL of the things (upgrades) that you will do (or did, or want). You just get to vote once, for any one or all of the things that pertain to you. That's why you get all the boxes to click on. Not just one item per person. Will, Where did you get the idea that I think you're only allowed to vote once for only one item?
  17. That's what I said. You only get one vote- for whatever you want to pick. If you come back later, it tells you that you've already voted.
  18. I can't vote twice, so how do you think people can get more than 1 vote? It even says near the top,"Voters: 53. You have already voted on this poll." thx
  19. Well, I'm whining because I couldn't even ge there- S30 or not! I winder why few S30s were there- intimidated?
  20. You ain't kidding. How many egg-shaped-twin-turbo blobs with the big hole on the front can you get in one place? And thay all had the same wheels, too. I think that's why I don't like those new "z-cars." They are just blobs with no style. Not as unique as the S30 was. I hope somebody will put a few S30 pics in there...In case they didn't realize it, Nissan DID EXIST before 2003, or even 1990. (300zx)
  21. Since it's now Monday morning, maybe we should change the topic to "Who WENT at the Z-fest?" I wanted to go, but couldn't get away from school/work/kid's birthdays.. Haven't seen my Tapanian friends since fall.
  22. My car don't wear no skirt. And the damn thing pushes plenty of air, and "sounds" fine. Mine gets some of all the necessities ( tinting or a/c not needed in Ohio). Cleaning, polish, later some paint, and a little juicing (electrical).
  23. I'll print those out and read them. Some of the pictures look interesting and similar to the efi L28 engine. thx
