  1. We still need to figure out what rubber piece will replace the original one. If I ever need to do it again, I would rather just replace the rubber. We need he exact part & #, not just "something similar, from the auto parts store." Or, if somebody knows already, I might send back the new mouldings I just ordered. and save $$$$
  2. how about a set of aluminum window squeegees? Mine are so hard they tink and chip/crack like metal when you tap them.
  3. I might just cut up the carpet, but I'm NOT going to replace the quarter windows with those tacky diamond ones!!!
  4. Is it permanent? Too many loose things on mine...
  5. What kind of stuff can you do to the dash cap to reduce glare and reflections off the windsheild? Since you can't get mouse-fur, some kind of cover, like orange shag? thx
  6. Sears makes a socket set "Bolt-Out" that has (spiral) teeth on them so you can grab onto rounded/stripped nuts THAT's what you need to do the job right!
  7. Do they have anything to put on top of the dash to reduce reflections? thx
  8. All the relays & stuff on the stock electrical system are there for safety, federal compliance (emmisions?) and whatever convenience features. Obviously, you can simplify things down to just a few circuits( maybe even one circuit), but you lose some functionality. Up to you.
  9. yeah-- Not eBay, either. I wouldn't want something that's dirty with dog-eared pages and missing pages. It has to be a new book. As an example, make it for the 1978 280Z.
  10. Does that mean the FSM CD I ordered doesn't contain any service information? Then I should return it immediately, and get the FSM printed locally, as the dealer says. (about $80)
  11. I'm not suggesting that the FSM CD be sold for $19.95 or something cheap like that. I just think that other companies should make it available through them. It doesn't cost much to add it to a catalog, and everybody benefits on each one sold.
  12. That is what I paid. There are no discounts on top of that. No club discounts. A hard copy costs about $80.
  13. I think my car doors will soon have rubber or PU rollers. I would expect the wood ones to be useless by now.
  14. there is a movement nowadays to price items according to what they think the final price would be (Economics 1001). It'sa chancy, but some companies (.nets) got rich or broke doing it. Not the old way, as you would expect.
  15. So why don't all the Zed parts dealers have the FSM CD in their catalogs!?? :devious: It's probably one of the most (if not -THE- most) important part they would have in the catalog. Probably the first item anyone should order, and should price it accordingly, so everyone can afford one.
  16. You won't need any glue, staples, rivets or anything because you HAVE to buy the chrome ctrip & rubber as one piece. Unless somebody has access to some catalogs to find a suitable replacement, you're stuck. The fuzzy strip CAN be removed & replaced tho. You can buy those separately (about 2-3 bucks).
  17. Z Car Creations is a "company" started by a guy at Courtesy Nissan to supplrement business there.
  18. I broke down & ordered some because I'm taking the car out of storage soon. Don't want to fill up the door with rain. Does anyone have rthe FSM (or CD) to email me the part that explains how to remove the chrome strip & attach the new one? Don't think I have time to wait for my FSM CD to arrive. (hopefully only a week). thx
  19. If they would make the squeegees, then we could glue/staple them on the old chrome strip and sell them to MidwestZ for $35 and get the money back! Mine were $40 each!!
  20. I think Courtesy Nissan is the only place that has the FSM CDs.
  21. I tried to ask for the "240Z-club discount" when ordering from Courtesy Nissan, and the guy told me there's no discounts- everything is already priced for online buyers. OTC buyers pay 15% more. So don't bother asking for a club discount.
  22. I thought you would just have to change the gears for 3rd to the new sizes.:disappoin
  23. It's Hydraulic and would require mods to the car to fit.
  24. referring to the 3N71B transmission, would it be possible to change the gearing for 3rd gear to something like .75, which would be the overdrive from the 4N71B? thx
