Removing my mirror
I'm getting ready to paint, and I have a fairly simple question. Is it possible to remove the mirror from the drivers side door without removing the window regulator and assembly? Maybe theres a trick I don't know about, but I can't seem to get to the mounting screws. Any hints? P.S. - Any yes, I searched first, couldn't find anything.:disappoin

$30,000 Datsun 240z's....Get yours before it's too late
Sorry to get off topic, but... Gen X was basically the Alternative rock generation, beginning with those of us who were in our 20's, during the 90's. At least thats how I would define Gen X, which is way more reliable than anything you can find on Wikipedia. Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains that was the music of my generation. The leaders of those bands, Cobain, Weiland, Staley, were all born in the 60's. People born in the 60's are the 1st Gen X'ers.

Officially a 240z owner!
Make sure when you fix the front of the rockers, you run the cowl drains out through a tube. There are some pics in my gallery of how I did it. Those areas (and the backside of the front fenders) rust out because the cowl drains right in there, so it fills up with leaves and dirt. Don't want to fix it now, just to have the same cycle start again.:beard:

Need a downpipe
I'm looking for an original exhaust downpipe (from the exhaust manifold to just below the firewall) for my 73. I'm running the stock manifolds and plan to use an MSA exhaust system, but had to cut the downpipe to get the motor out. I could pick up in the Massachusetts/Rhode Island area, or I'd be willing to pay shipping. If anybody has one they're looking to sell, I'd be interested. My email is: sidneydal@comcast.net Thanks

A few pictures
I uploaded a bunch more photos yesterday, they are awaiting approval. Bart, I didn't do a full rebuild on the motor because it ran well when I bought it (except for a coolant leak in the original carb/manifold). I eliminated the coolant when I changed to the round tops since this will only be a summer car, no need to warm up the carbs. But the head was rebuilt, and I rebuilt a set of 72 carbs, polished the intake manifolds, etc. I should be painting and putting the motor/tranny back in, in a few weeks. Finishing the bodywork this week. I'll post some more pics soon.

Wish I could have such luck selling on eBay!
I bought a "rust free" low mileage (26K) New England car, and found plenty of latent rust when I really got into it in the doglegs and in the rockers. Not so much rust that I'm unhappy, but I only paid $3,800 for my 73.
