Yep, sure is.

synthetic oil ?
I've used RP 20W-40 in both 721 and my newer Z. No issues at all. Change frequency is annually, since the miles driven never approach wearing out the oil. 721 saw a bit of track time, too.

Who Makes the Best Strut Bar
I had a hood clearance issue with the strut bar from MSA.

That's my 1970 for sale...
Nice car, JR. It should sell at a decent price. Sorry to see you selling it, though.

Aftermarket Headlight Covers
I've only used the screw-mount type from MSA. It takes a couple of minutes of fiddling to get them just right....

looking to buy into the Z cult- some basic questions about buying/inspection
Forget the exterior rust, it's the rust you can't readily see that's critical. Inspect floor boards, under the battery, frame rails and their attachment points. Any and all under-car pieces. Ya gotta get the car on a lift. Mechanicals are important, but body condition is even more so.

ITB info needed
I'm wanting to learn more about ITB installations and any problems with this injection system. Search for ITB turns up zero.

A very clean 260z for sale. What do you think?
This dealership is about 3 miles away, so I drove over there just now to take a peek. It wasn't there. Seems there's an electrical drain that poops out a battery in two days, so it's off to a shop that "might" know something about early Z electrics. I did get to see the rebuild album, though, and it was quite the job. The car was originally a light brown in color. Taken down to bare metal everywhere. Floors looked great in the photos. The engine was completely rebuilt, Z Therapy SUs. I saw a receipt from Mr. Z in ABQ, but most of the work was done in Austin, Texas. The salesfolk said they'd call me when they had the car back.

The car looks great to me. Probably worth the $15K from the pics.

Please find a good home...
Gosh, George, that is terrible! I lost 721 in a similar situation and truly sympathize with you... So very sorry.

3:54 or 3:7?
Are you gonna cruise or track the car?

My Vintage Rallies Texas 1000 Thread
As for the U-Haul car trailer.... Just jack up the hitch end a bit. That'll lower the ramp end and you can drive right on without scraping anything. I did that with 721 once and it went without a hitch (no pun intended).

welding the seams?
You would likely be trapping unseen rust that would eventually cause a lot of problems. The only way I would consider doing this is if the car was COMPLETELY disassembled, then put back. I mean you would have to take all body panels, floor panels, etc. apart...bust the spot welds, clean, POR, then reweld. BTW, do you have a body jig? You'd need it.
