  1. No I think you are correct in saying you need a tank, it is surprising as the build date is so early. It will be hard to find a plastic one. Yes that is the flow valve I mentioned. As well that is right the 90 degree bend tube would not be there
  2. Yes there should be a few things. If there is no evap tank there will only be a fuel and return gas line, if there is a tank there is a third line the same size as the return line. There would be a flow valve which the line attaches to mounted on the drivers side fender wall. As well the large vent pipe that comes out of the side of the block will have a small tube that connects to the flow valve and if it does not have the vapor recovery system there is no small pipe.
  3. The connections on your gas tank should show if there is a evaporator tank or not. Here is a good thread on CDN - US differences http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/36539-early-240z-gas-tank/

  5. I am sure they are painted the block color
  6. E-tek just because you finished a couple of nice looking cars does not let you off the hook as to who won the race. Dan
  7. I would bet that it has never been out or repainted. That looks like the typical over spray that is seen all over the none blue parts on a motor.
  8. So: This job took a while, I bought the magical wack-a-mole style and of course it does not clear the cam shaft. So I tried a few other models and there was the same problem with all of them. They all would work well if the cam was removed. So I ordered the Sealy from England. With the exchange rate and shipping it came out to just under $75 cdn. As well it took a few weeks to get here. Once I had the tool as everyone stated it was a nice quick afternoon job to replace all of the seals.
  9. My 7/70 has them as well, I always wondered what they were for as well as the same ones on the inside rear under the windows. Maybe for jig attachment points before welding the body together?
  10. But isn't it more than that, the fact that it holds all of the bits together and there is no collets flying around has to count for something. I can get one on Amazon Canada with free shipping which means it is cheaper than the Sealy shown in post 3
  11. Thanks Looks like it will make my Christmas/Birthday list as well.
  12. Awesome guys, Thanks for the tips and feedback. LeonV: Does it damage the retainers or just put a mark in them?
  13. So it looks like I am going to replace my valve seals, I do not own a spring compressor tool and from what I can find the KD 3087 is no longer sold. Has anyone used any of these types (the style more so than the brand) and if so which one works best? http://www.lislecorp.com/divisions/products/?product=203&division=1&category=6 http://www.lislecorp.com/divisions/products/?product=49&division=1&category=6 http://www.lislecorp.com/divisions/products/?product=645&division=1&category=6 Thanks Dan
  14. I would not say equal time, but here is something. https://www.hagerty.ca/articles-videos/Articles/2014/05/15/Rising-Sons
  15. Jim: You need to rethink going east. Just as bad winters, straight roads..etc. You need come west and open your own shop out here.
  16. I took it out for a spin last week, so we will see if Jan is possible
  17. Got a new calendar from the place I got my car painted and this was a nice surprise.
  18. That is a odd looking dash vin plate every one I have seen is HLS30-xxxxxx and that one is HLS30xxxxx as well, the center consul is from a series 2 car.
  19. What ever you use it for here is what I did a few years ago to make a lever. http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/38110-hand-throttle/?hl=%2Bthrottle+%2Blever
  20. They are both on the same circuit, so I would hook up the side marker plugs to both sides and try it. I use the side marker plug as well and have had no problem with it. Dan
  21. That is odd, I have to ask because you refer to a single side marker. Is the other side hanging out with the black wire disconnected as well or is it still all hooked up?
  22. Bodyshop finally sent a bunch of photos of the car when it was being painted. A couple of the engine bay and a couple of it undressed, because zKars seems to enjoy them this way.
