  1. Well it seems to be a few threads showing updates to members projects and as I did not want to be left out here are a few photos of my car. The first one is a before and after of the TC rail area. Before I sealed it up I ran a borescope up the rails and found the rail gone behind the support plate over the front cross member. Again a before and after, from the outside you could not tell there was a problem it just looked like a bit of surface rust around the plate (glad I did the borescope). Next is the rocker panel under the front fender, I used the Tabco part for this repair. The last three are the progress on the drivers rear 1/4. I picked up a set of rear 1/4's this past winter in AZ while on vacation. I started on the front drivers side and am working my way around the car. All of the repairs have been POR 15 treated on the inside as I have gone. At the rate I am going I hope to be done by next spring.
  2. As well, this site has the same info and a nice photo. http://datsunzgarage.com/engine/
  3. Arnie: Solid core with a shielding gas is the way to go. As well, a small wire is better 0.023. If you can find it try ESAB "easy grind" wire. I seem to weld like I do drywall mudding. "stick 10 lbs of mud/wire on and sand/grind 7 lbs off. Like Ron said practice, practice. Dan As well, try this link, I found it helpful http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/thin-metal.htm
  4. These came with the car when I bought it, the quality is about the same as Tabco. I did not know that anyone in Europe made body parts for the S30. Dan
  5. Just wanted to post a thanks to zKars for the group buy. A great replacement for the weatherstripping at a great price delivered to my door. Can't beat that. Dan
  6. Dave: If you are sending to the US, just use Canada Post and put "antique car parts" on the form. There will be no duty charged. Dan
  7. Dave: just to make sure the switch on the left is what you need, correct? The connectors and wiring are the same. If this is what you need, PM me with your address and how you want it sent. Dan
  8. Dave: I may have what you need, give me a day to find it. Dan
  9. Jim: That sounds great, pm me as to how you want payment, thanks for doing this. Looking out the window it sure looks like spring is not going to here any time soon. Dan
  10. So, I finally make it back to the wreckers. Here are a couple of photos, the yellow one is a late series 1 vin 19081 (started life as a green with brown int) and the orange one is a 72 vin 128042. I was able to get the splash pan off the 72. As well there was a Porsche and a Simca there too.
  11. Arne: Mine arrived today, thanks for all of you hard work.
  12. Dan: thanks for the link Dave PM sent
  13. What is everyone using to replace the old brittle black vinyl sheath on the wiring. I am talking about the wiring covers for parts like the length of wiring from the plug to motor on the wiper motor or from the socket to the plug on the headlights. Is this material still avalible in an auto store? On all of the parts I have this covering is hard and brittle. I would like to replace it with new which I am assuming is more flexable than what I have. Dan
  14. Arne: yes everything is intact and works. It had the rubber gasket as well, but it was split and I seem to have lost it somewhere between taking it off the car and home. It was on the series 2 car and was easy to remove as the rear quarter was cut away. I did not have any tools with me but it was just hanging by the chrome nut.
  15. While taking my Mom back to her home after Christmas I spotted a Z in a auto wreckers. I pulled in for a quick look and found two, a series 1 and a series 2. As the family was waiting in the car I did not have much time to look them over. Of course no camera, I even forgot to check the vin number:stupid:. I will be going back in Jan so will check then. It is a shock to find a S30 in a auto yard around here let alone two. I did manage to pick up this for $20 while I was there.

  18. Richard: here are a few photos of some of the areas. I did not take any of the front, rad support area. I can not get at the front without opening the large door on my garage and it is -38 C today:sick:. Dan
  19. Here is one that is under the drivers seat. 6513 07/70 Dan
  20. Richard: You can have these, they look OK but they are off a parts car I never saw running. In keeping with the Pay it forward thread they are yours for the cost of shipping.
