    Buy the bracket...It works great.
  2. Installed interior panels, new rivits and finised the interior. Waiting for my new stainless bumpers that were shipped Monday and should be here Wed. And thats what I will be doing this week end. Mike
  3. Stephen, Try ebay and keep looking. Black Dragon sells them for $320.00 new. Mike
  4. Sorry to say the only way is to push the pin in and remove the plug. You can get lucky and find a few of the pins but not all. I just changed my panels and tried to find the pins but for some reason the car just didn't want to let some go of them and hid them forever. You can buy the pins from many places and the new ones seem to hold better than the ones I tried to reuse. They run about 1.00 each. I bought mine from MSA. Mike
  5. Sorry, will not work 2+2 rear hatch is not the same size as a coupe. Mike
  6. A photo would help...

I just put a MSA handle on my passenger side and had to file one of the square openings out a little to get it to go in, the pins that hold the parts to the handle were a little longer than the nos driver side that I have. The quality of the MSA part is nice, I just had to make a little adjustment to get it in the door... Mike
  8. The rod goes from the outside door handle and just rest in the hole. The adjusting nut sets loose in the hole and can be adjusted up or down to adjust the amount of pull needed to open the door nothing holds it in place. When you pull up on the handle it pushes the rod down to open the door. I just put my new handles on last night. Hope this helps.
  9. Picked up car from the paint both, had the type ll body kit removed and repainted car. Ordered new stainless bumpers to replace the body kit. New front spoiler added with the small rear spolier. Now the long road of putting her back together and have her ready for Z DAYZ.
  10. Welcome Bill, I also drive a 260Z, early build date... Mike
  11. Bruce would be the man.. Also tell him what problems you think you are having...
  12. Just buy a 3 in 1 kit should come with all you need.
  13. could it be that the knob is free spinning on the shaft of the switch? it may be that you just need a new knob... If not replace the switch.

I talked with this guy and the car was built with a budget of around $125,000.00............... And was a nice car
  17. Also check your chokes and make sure that they are not sticking slightly open this can also cause your car to sputter.

Two of us from Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island S.C. Leaving wed. the 20th, driving two early 74 260Z. See You There............
  20. Maybe I should get a bumper sticker that says My Z is better than your Z...
  21. All things said I would match my early version 260z against any other Z 240 or 280. It is a great car to drive and very few if any can tell it from any 240. As John Coffey said the purists seem to have the biggest issue with them. It still cost me the same to put it into the condition it is in today, as it would any other Z 240,260, or 280.......

I run panasports 16 X 7 with 225/50/16 with a +6 offset, Toyota 4 Runner front brakes, and lowered with no issues... they sit right inside the wheel wells... Mike
  23. So you have a european model of the 260 , in 74.5 the 260 was changed like the 280 with the heavy bumpers and lights changed to the grill and other things. The early version valance should work with some mounting bracket changes the 240 is different than the early 260 the late version 260 and 280, in where they mount up. You should be able to make it work with a little time. I am not sure but there should be an airdam that will mount up with the 240 turn signal lights built into the airdam itself without using the valance. fwiw

I run the 4runner calipers on my 260, had to change to 240 hubs and I run Pannasports with +6 offset with no problems.
  25. As Mike stated you get what you pay for.... I ordered a replacement that had the plastic end at the speedometer and it was a unversal fit that did not screw to the drive and was way to long. Got it to work but have replaced it with the proper cable a long time ago. Be careful.... FWIW
